Philips Lead Software Engineer for innovative diagnostic medical device development in Allerod, Denmark

As Lead Software Engineer you will join a multi-site team of developers working on a variety of different software products (PC and embedded) for a diagnostic medical device platform. You will take the lead on the development of the embedded software and your initial primary focus will be on implementation of image analysis algorithms.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality software

  • Write and maintain design documentation

  • Support/coach colleagues and participate in reviews

  • Perform small technology feasibility studies

  • Contribute to safety and security risk analysis

  • Work according to quality management system

Technologies

  • C#, C++ Windows/Linux

  • Continuous Integration, Subversion

  • Unit testing and unit testing frameworks (NUnit, Mocking frameworks, Specflow (BDD))

Your Profile

  • Degree in Software Engineering or related studies

  • 5+ years’ experience in software development

  • Team-player: experience with team interaction on a day-to-day basis

  • Good communication and reporting skills in English and ideally also Danish

  • Experience with Product Creation and Quality Processes including design documentation

  • Pre: lead developer experience including architectural design

  • Pre: experience with medical devices

  • Pre: image processing knowledge, e.g. OpenCV

  • Pre: experience with agile development processes e.g. Scrum

Handheld Diagnostics is one of the biggest Business Units within the Emerging Businesses Group. Handheld Diagnostics has grown to around 200 FTE and our aim is to generate business in a new market for Philips which will significantly contribute to the growth ambitions. Handheld Diagnostics is developing next generation Point of Care solutions which aim to support the caregiver in making faster clinical decisions to reduce costs and improve patient satisfaction. The first product was launched in Q2 2016 in Europe, and subsequent products are in development.

The software team has grown to around 20 FTE in the last years, split between Denmark and Eindhoven in Holland. You will join the group located in Denmark but will work closely with colleagues in Eindhoven.
