As Design Business Partner Global Brand, Communications & Digital (BCD), you will develop and activate a design strategy for the BCD business, supporting them in achieving their business targets. You are responsible for

As Global Head of Brand & Communication Design, you will develop and activate a design strategy in close collaboration with the Brand, Communications & Digital (BCD) team within global Marketing, supporting them in helping our businesses achieve their targets by orchestrating compelling and differentiated Philips brand experiences worldwide. You will act as a design thought leader by inspiring and realizing intriguing propositions driving market and brand leadership. Moreover, managing annual design programs on behalf of our various business groups will be part of your job.

In the role of Global Head of Brand & Communication Design you will:

  • Be part of the Philips Design Board, driving design thought leadership within the total global Philips Design community across all 12 locations.

  • Act as a Philips Brand Ambassador. Inspire and engage with topics related to the Brand. As a key member of the Philips Design global community, you will become the go-to source of knowledge and help regarding anything related to our brand identity and the application of it through design. Enhancing Philips Design’s reputation within and outside the larger Philips community.

  • Create a view on future directions and assess how different touchpoints of experiences perform and propose and drive new initiatives to make step changes.

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, stimulating the creative process with new ideas, input and thinking through the whole brand experience. Helping to guide the Philips identity and work with the Design Management teams in the businesses to execute this through projects, guidelines and final design specifications across all on- and off-line touchpoints.

  • Confidently communicate and strongly articulate your and the team’s creative propositions, both clearly and persuasively at an individual and group level. Working within tight deadlines and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with a can-do attitude.

  • Safeguard (cross) business consistency by monitoring the design quality across the total portfolio in line with brand and design standards and initiate corrective action when needed. Use effective orchestration skills (globally) when art directing external (multidisciplinary) agencies and freelancers.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree specializing in Graphic, Communication or Digital Design with a minimum of 10 years' of relevant work experience in B2B and B2C Industries;

  • A proven track record working with multidisciplinary teams (Design, Marketing etc.) and partnering with Brand, Communication and Digital Design specialists;

  • Relevant experience in brand design for B2B and B2C product propositions and services – preferably in an international context, both in on- and off-line touchpoints

  • Affinity for the Healthcare Business;

  • Firm understanding of brand application and marketing campaign articulation across all on- and off-line touchpoints;

  • Strong analytical & conceptual skills in order to increase knowledge, create relevant insights and innovative solutions;

  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders within own profession as well as in the business on all levels;

  • Ability to inspire others with leadership and strong management;

  • Strong visual skills in terms of stylistic accuracy, visual semantics and visual hierarchy - your portfolio demonstrates a strong creative thinking with the ability to develop an original idea all the way from concept through to final realization;

  • Advanced level of proficiency in core design software tools like Adobe CS, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc.;

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and influencing skills;

  • A true team player able to operate in a global matrix environment.
