Philips Director of Accounting Operations in Andover, Massachusetts

  • Providing strategic and tactical leadership to the Accounting Operations team, ensuring clear priorities are identified and outcomes delivered

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders (FP&A and the Business Partners) to effectively account for business events, address accounting-related queries and manage associated risks

  • Ensuring the integrity and transparency of the balance sheet, identify risks and to deliver on remediation actions where necessary

  • Leading and developing a collaborative and effective working relationship with the India accounting team responsible for transactional and rules-based accounting

  • Leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing the design and execution of accounting-related projects and process improvement initiatives

  • Ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls over reporting. Maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) documentation and requirements for assigned areas and assure risks are identified and controlled.

  • Leading and supporting the external audit, ensuring the integrity and timeliness of deliverables to the auditor

  • Collaborating with Technical Accounting to apply accounting policies and define accounting treatment

In this role, you have the opportunity to

The Director leads the Accounting Operations for Philips commercial entities in North America. He/she has accountability for all accounting (excluding revenue recognition) and related internal controls and business decision support. Within the scope are Health Systems and Personal Health sales and service organizations in the United States and Canada. The Director is accountable for the E2E record-to-report process and directly leads a team in North America and indirectly leads a supporting Accounting Operations team in Chennai, India.

You are responsible for

You are a part of

A global accounting team which is closely partnered with business leaders to support the North American operations of an established and successful healthcare technology company. You will report into the Head of Accounting Operations NA and will collaborate with a diverse team in the United States, Canada and India.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Proven leadership capabilities in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration competencies

  • CPA Required

  • 4+ Years of Public Accounting experience; hands-on understanding of PCAOB audit requirements

  • Progressive accounting experience in a public company

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills

  • Tolerance of ambiguity and an ability to shape deliverables with limited guidance

  • Hands-on approach with an attention to detail

  • Strong planning and execution discipline
