Philips Product Engineer in Andover, Massachusetts


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Create a supplier and sourcing management strategy, new product introduction material setups, device master record design controls for design changes, as well as supplier quality and material cost strategies.

You are responsible for

  • Partner with suppliers in new product, new process development, as well as in change management for existing products

  • Develop control plans to maintain product quality at suppliers

  • Ensure oversight of supplier quality/yield performance; drive improvement activities/programs

  • Plan & execute new supplier and supplier production process qualifications

  • Propose, support and lead material cost reductions through competitive quoting, re-sourcing, make-versus-buy, negotiations, process efficiencies, and design changes

  • Customized part set-up and (form, fit, function) specification review

  • Perform Data/specification exchange with suppliers upon changes including SCN management

  • Travel to supplier and Philips entities in support of issues related to projects, programs, and special circumstances

You are a part of

A Philips HeathTech organization, which supports a worldwide consumables business unit, as well as supply chain activities including supplier management, product specification control, product quality monitoring and corrective actions. You will have engagement with teams worldwide and cross functionally, on delivering new products to market and sustaining engineering of released products.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in a mechanical/connector/cable manufacturing environment

  • Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills

  • Skills to use various IT Applications (e.g. SAP, eDMR, MS Office Applications)

  • Project Management Professional Certification and experience (a plus)

  • Medical device manufacturing experience or experience within a regulated environment
