R&D Project Manager

Your challenge:

As part of the patient worn monitor team, the R&D (Research & development) Project Manager will focus on managing software and hardware projects in a cross functional environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage software and hardware development projects

  • Formulating the project plan, in consultation with management and other parties concerned on base of the requirements

  • Organize the resources to be used (quality, time, budget and information) and specifies the quality standard in the processes

  • Operate at all necessary levels of development planning according to project-specific needs, including prioritizing development actions; coordinate prioritization with roadmap and marketing activities as well as integrating input from customers and development partners.

  • Coordinate day-to-day project execution and manage a cross functional holistic project plan

  • Coordinate with test/V&V (Verification & Validation)/Q&R (Quality & Regulatory) teams and provide official approval of work deliverables; take ownership of quality and reliability of the delivered software

  • Provide input and decision making on development process, including project artifacts and development/test operations, tools, and continuous improvement

Drive Operational Excellence:

  • Defines the risks of the project (f.e. specs, costs, planning, etcetera) and develops scenarios to overcome these risks.

  • Directs employees and gives them operational guidance

  • Implementation and realization according to the project plan (specification, quality, time, money, information) and organization.

  • Reports on the progress of the project with an agreed frequency on quality, status, time, and money to senior management and to project members.

  • Ensures that there is an effective transfer and archiving of the project results and the associated knowledge.

  • Reports on employees’ performance to the hierarchical superior of the employees for the purpose of appraisal.

Your team:

The Project Manager will be part of the Patient Worn Monitor Development team, and will be working together with Marketing, Production, New Product Introduction and R&D. Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of direct project or program management experience, schedule management (including tools, such as MS Project or equivalent) in a regulated Design Control environment (US, EU and Japan)

  • Experience with managing Class II or III device projects

  • Demonstrated experience in managing/improving software and hardware development performance

  • Experience leading cross-functional team meetings, management updates and internal development review meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering Discipline, Masters preferred

  • PMP or Prince2 certification
