Perform senior paralegal job duties in support of North America Market legal department.

Your challenge

To be successful, you must be a self-starter and have the desire and ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment using strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Your responsibilities

manage litigation hold process including communications and record keeping; drive quarterly certification of litigation status by the North American Market lawyers; work with lawyers and regulatory experts to review marketing communications for company products and solutions; assist lawyers in contract drafting, negotiation, and approval for clinical trial, professional services, and other types of contracts; maintain a thorough understanding of legal compliance issues and company guidelines relating to the healthcare industry and provide advice to company clients within the boundaries set by the lawyers; perform other tasks as assigned.

We are looking for

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a high level. The position is located at the Philips U.S. Headquarters in Andover, MA. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program

  • Bachelor’s degree a plus

  • 5+ years of work experience as in-house paralegal (preferred) and/or with a national law firm

  • Healthcare - (medical device, biotech, pharma etc.) industry experience a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to interact at a professional level with clients, customers, and colleagues on legal matters.

  • Organized and detail oriented, able to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects in a timely and effective manner.

  • Understand legal principles as applied to the clients’ businesses.

  • Effective team contributor to Legal Department projects, programs and investigations.

  • Be knowledgeable of Legal Department policies, processes, procedures and documentation in addition to relevant corporate policies and procedures.

  • Have basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office programs (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and familiarity with corporate database programs.

  • Comfort learning new programs, online databases, SharePoint, etc.

  • Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.

  • Takes ownership and responsibility on projects and consistently drives them to completion.

  • Ability to effectively team up and build rapport with multiple business partners and colleagues.
