Philips Engineering Technician in Aurora (IL), Illinois

Key Responsibilities/Duties :

  • Support the R & D of products and components, including set-up and testing as requested by Engineering and other departments.

  • Assist in maintaining the processes in the V & V Lab.

  • Manage and maintain Lab’s equipment and records.

  • Assist in failure analysis using scanning electron microscope (SEM).

  • Submit periodic verbal or written reports as requested

  • Perform planned maintenance and calibrations of the process and test equipment.

  • Provide support to other departments as directed by supervisor.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area/equipment per “6S” requirements.

  • Provide support and cross-training to department personnel.

  • Develop personal objectives and goals.

  • Continuous improvement through hands on and training to increase technical and personal

Job Requirements :

  • Associates Degree in electronics engineering or related.

  • 1-2 years’ experience investigating failures of electromechanical equipment, required.

  • Ability to use test equipment and trouble shoot to the board level, and systems level is required, component level trouble shooting is a plus.

  • Experience with medical devices is a plus.

  • Display mechanical aptitude and perform electrical/electronic troubleshooting and failure analysis to the component level.

  • Must be capable of electromechanical prototype assembly and debug using hand tools and electronic test equipment.

  • Ability to read and understand, analyze and interpret blue prints, mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics, technical documents and procedures.

  • Self-motivation and integrity to work with little or no supervision.

  • Must have good record keeping and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.

  • Clear and concise written communication skill is required.

  • Maintain an attitude of willingness to learn and grow in a team environment.
