Philips Education and Development Consultant in Baltimore, Maryland

Prepares lesson plans from engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation. Works with engineering, technical support and manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features. Instructs participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Follows up to determine applicability of course material. Works, as a specialist, on the development of the medium term policy for his sub discipline and processes results into a vision/roadmap.

Builds actively networks with key contacts in- and outside Philips for his specialism to keep abreast of new developments/insights.

May lead multi-disciplinary change projects, managing a significant number of people. Typically requires a Master’s degree with > 5 years of related experience.

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Support Philips as an Education & Development Consultant. You will be primarily responsible for designing, developing and delivering educational content for Hospital to Home (H2H) employees and customers. This role will report to the Services Leader in H2H.

You are responsible for

Contributing to the design and development of course material and delivering education and training.

  • Customer Experience

  • Provide the highest level customer experience possible in any learning environment (online, virtual, eLearning, classroom)

  • Ensure Philips Healthcare customers and employees receive consistent, streamlined learning services by using common company style, standards and development tools

  • Content Development

  • Develop, store and use technical material/content according to the applicable Quality Management System directives and processes

  • Develop courses, instructional materials and other instructional information consistent with adult learning theory for delivery

  • Facilitate cross-departmental dialogue to ensure needs are addressed/highlighted in new training offerings

  • Project Management

  • Complete project tasks from start to finish with minimal assistance

  • Contribute to technical/complex course development projects

  • Education Programs

  • Exhibit superior presentation skills at all times

  • Deliver engaging learning events, whether in person or online

  • Use interactive tools to keep learners engaged

  • Create a cohesive learning community in which the learners work together, share ideas, apply knowledge, give feedback and make reflections on their work.

  • Review feedback from students, compiles and analyzes data and recommends changes to training courses as appropriate

  • Use proper materials, student support systems, teaching methods, learning strategies, and assessment techniques

You are a part of

The H2H Services team, headquartered in Baltimore, part of Philips Healthcare Informatics (HI) division, you will report directly to the Services Leader in Hospital to Home (H2H).

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a relevant major

  • Experience developing courses, instructional materials and other instructional information consistent with adult learning theory for delivery

  • Superb customer service skills, including high-level professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Must have outstanding communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated familiarity with and interest in using technology to deliver training & education

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and use course content with enthusiasm and passion

  • Self-motivated, self-managed, be able to work autonomously in a professional manner

  • Proven success working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Readily adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities

  • Ability to interface at multiple levels of the customer’s environment

  • Strong organizational capabilities and time management with the ability to multi-task daily

  • Strong analytical capacity with excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Must be available for travel - expected travel: 50 % or less on average
