Your challenge

Our lead product, TissueMark combines sophisticated image analysis of ‘big data’ (terabytes of image data) with a straightforward no nonsense workflow that supports pathologists by automatically identifying and quantifying tumour on a digital image. This saves clinics/hospitals time and money and improves accuracy by reducing false negatives.

As a Senior Software Developer for the TissueMark Scrum team, your key challenge is to make an impact on the fight against cancer by turning Business Epics and User Stories into new product features.

Your responsibilities

Your responsibilities in a nutshell:

  • Using modern technologies (HTML5, CSS3, ASP.NET, C#) to develop web based applications for the viewing, analysis and management of medical images.

  • Make use of appropriate frameworks (Bootstrap, Angular, Entity framework) to ensure rapid delivery of stories by the team.

  • Build fully cloud deployable apps.

  • Writing automated unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality.

  • Contribute to best practices, design patterns and identify opportunities to refactor code.

  • To be an active part of the Scrum team driving to complete tasks within the sprint.

  • Work with the Product Owner and Architect to understand requirements (user stories) and make technical design decisions to fulfil them.

  • Provide on-going support and mentoring to the junior software developers in the R&D team.

  • To assist in defining the team's technical strategy and advising on product roadmaps

  • Take an active role in all parts of the development life cycle (requirements gathering, estimation, development, testing and bug fixing).

We are looking for

To be a successful Senior Software Developer in Philips you will have the following:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in software development.

  • Strong software development skills and experience of building web applications from initial specification to final deployment and acceptance.

  • Excellent knowledge of modern web technologies including PaaS.

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and can demonstrate technical understanding, development skills and interpersonal qualities that this role requires.

  • A quick learner who is looking for new challenges and responsibilities in an innovative software company.

  • Strong knowledge in C# and JavaScript.

The following skills are desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in building rich client side applications.

  • Experience using database management systems including database design, development and SQL programming.

  • Experience in writing REST/SOAP Web services.

  • Experience using Angular 2 and Bootstrap.

  • Experience build and deploying fully cloud enabled applications.

  • Working with the product owner and organising the scrum team to get stories delivered on time.

  • Working with the architect to make key design decisions for the product.

  • To assist in defining the team's technical strategy and advising on product roadmaps

  • Understand the full product and be able to answer questions from other teams.

  • Take an active role in all parts of the development life cycle (requirements gathering, estimation, development, testing and bug fixing).

  • Reinforcing the rules of scrum.

  • Owning team’s development process and empowering the team to improve it.

  • Leading the team’s effort in continuous improvement.

  • Working with the product owner to plan releases and maintaining the scrum board for the development team.

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and can demonstrate technical understanding, development skills and interpersonal qualities that this role requires.

  • A quick learner who is looking for new challenges and responsibilities in an innovative software company.

  • Strong knowledge in C# and JavaScript.

  • Experience using database management systems including database design, development and SQL programming.

  • Experience in writing REST/SOAP Web services.
