Our lead product, TissueMark combines sophisticated image analysis of ‘big data’ (terabytes of image data) with a straightforward no nonsense workflow that supports pathologists by automatically marking up tumour on a digital image. This saves clinics/hospitals time and money and improves accuracy by reducing false negatives.

Your responsibilities

The role will involve the design and development of web-based products to support cancer detection and drug discovery. Successful candidates will work as part of the existing Product Development team and tasks will include, but are not limited to;

  • Using modern technologies (HTML5, CSS3, ASP.NET) to develop web based applications for the viewing, analysis and management of medical images

  • Contribute to best practices, design patterns and identify opportunities to refactor code

  • Understand requirements (user stories) and make technical design decisions to fulfil them

  • To assist in defining the team's technical strategy and advising on product roadmaps

  • Assists in the estimation of work for the web development team

  • Provide on-going support and mentoring to the junior software developers in the R&D team

  • Take an active role in all parts of the development life cycle (requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment and support)

  • Writing automated unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality

This position reports into the R&D Manager and is based from our office in Belfast.

We are looking for

Essential

  • 2:1 degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Software Developer/Engineer

  • Strong software development skills and experience of building web applications from initial specification to final deployment and acceptance

  • Experience of writing and building unit and integration tests

  • A quick learner who is looking for new challenges and responsibilities in an innovative software company

  • Hard working, disciplined, self-motivated and focused

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Internet Information Servers (IIS)

  • Experience of NHibernate, Spring and REST/SOAP Web services

  • Experience of working with a continuous integration environment

  • Experience in database design, development and SQL programming
