Your challenge

Philips Digital Pathology Belfast are setting up a new platform scrum team and we require a passionate, driven and dedicated senior software developer to join the team.

Your responsibilities in a nutshell:

  • Help to setup and maintain a common platform consisting of RESTful services that will be utilised by three applications (TissueMark, Xplore and Tutor).

  • Extract common code from the application scrum teams and re-write as a shared service.

  • Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

  • Be an active part of the Scrum team driving to complete tasks within the sprint.

  • Understand requirements (user stories) and make technical design decisions to fulfil them.

  • Contribute to best practices, design patterns and identify opportunities to refactor code.

The senior software developer will report directly to the software development group lead and will be based in the Northern Ireland Science Park in Belfast

We are looking for

To be a successful senior software developer in Philips you will have the following:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in software development.

  • Strong software development skills and experience of building web applications from initial specification to final deployment and acceptance.

  • Strong software design skills and experience in the design and implementation of RESTful APIs.

  • Experience in working in an agile software development team.

  • Strong knowledge in C#.

  • A quick learner who is looking for new challenges and responsibilities in an innovative software company.

The following skills are desirable but not essential:

  • Experience with cloud platforms e.g. Cloud Foundry.

  • Experience with building identify management and single sign-on solutions.
