As the Director of the Interventional Applications Cluster you will work with your team to design state-of-the-art interventional tools for diagnostic and minimal invasive procedures, that will bring new and unmatched value to our customers.

Your responsibilities

You lead and manage the team responsible for delivering interventional tools within the allocated budget, on time and with the highest level of quality. The work is based on a systems and clinical roadmap, covering studies, product development projects and lifecycle management activities. Key areas of responsibility:

  • Leads with her/his management staff a team of about 40 development engineers located in Best.

  • Works closely with program management to establish a clear vision and product strategy.

  • Defines group composition including required competencies, resources and skills.

  • Teams up with peers within R&D globally to deliver on the overall program and business needs.

  • Defines and executes process improvement activities.

  • Manages relationships with customers, and internal stakeholders like Marketing, Innovation, Quality and Regulatory, Customer Services, and Operations.

  • Ensures successful introduction and sustaining of high quality and reliable solutions.

Your team

Within Philips Healthcare in Best, the Business Unit IGT Systems is responsible for marketing, development, manufacturing and service of Image Guided Therapy Systems and Interventional Tools used in the area of cardiac, vascular, neuro and onco diagnosis and interventions (such as balloon angioplasty and stent procedures). The customers are hospitals and their medical specialists.

The IAC cluster is responsible for delivering a suite of interventional tools that are central to performing complex clinical procedures. The team is integrally responsible for the whole lifecycle of the tools. All developments take place in multidisciplinary projects, and follow a mature agile development process The IAC team consists of highly educated, culturalle diverse, enthusiastic professional engineers.

We are looking for:

  • Someone with a Master Degree in a technical discipline and 8-10 years of experience in a high-technology company in the medical domain.

  • Who has experience in a regulated and process-oriented environment.

  • Who has an indepth understanding of the specific clinical domains.

  • Who has affinity with software development including platform development and reuse.

  • Who has knowledge of and proficiency in management tools and procedures for setting and tracking performance, quality, time and cost.

Next to this, you are very experienced when it comes to people management skills, including leadership, conflict resolution, assertiveness, negotiation and influence management. You have the ability to understand, track, drill down and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data. You have a proven track record in change management and the ability to handle cultural differences.
