Philips Internship: Magnetic Resonance Finance, Processes and Value Creation in Best, Netherlands

Your challenge

You will get a unique overview of the way of working within Controlling/Finance function within Philips Healthcare, including interface with different functions (R&D/Purchasing/IS-Operation/HRM/SBS-Finance) in the business. You will be part of the Magnetic Resonance (MR) controlling team. Last but not least, you will be challenged to learn, grow and excel.

Your responsibilities

  • Assist the MR controlling team in month end closing processes related to NPI projects costs analysis etc.

  • Support in execution of some quarterly ICS (Internal Control Standard) controls for the business

  • Support cost engineer to perform pricing activities and productivity reporting

  • Analysis and Support on R&D project reporting with focus on Projects spend tracking/realized price vs Business case budget

  • Further support and optimize existing procedure and participate in improvement projects

Within Philips Healthcare, the Business Unit Magnetic Resonance Imaging (BU MRI) is the fastest growing, most innovative business. MR controlling consists of a small team of international people, with in-depth knowledge of business processes, accounting and controlling.

Internship conditions:

  • Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.

  • A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.

  • A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.

  • The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.

  • Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)

We are looking for:

Currently studying towards your Master of Science WO (Msc.) (last year) with next qualification(s):

  • Finance

  • Accounting

  • Business Economics

  • Economics

  • Have preferably accounting or economics as major, and /or IT background

  • Have some previous experience preferred but not required

  • Have in-depth knowledge in windows applications (mainly Excel , PowerPoint)

  • Are fluent in oral and written English

  • Are a team player with the ability to work under pressure
