Your challenge

As the Hardware Designer, you are responsible for designing and developing MR products (Gradient Amplifiers) for hospital and outpatient radiology facilities. You will work with a team of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, systems engineering, manufacturing and service engineers to define products, test, integrate on system level and bring into production in close collaboration with our main suppliers for these products to meet the needs of our customers and their demanding environment.

Your responsibilities

In this role as Hardware Designer you are responsible for the design, realization, integration and test of Gradient Amplifiers and related components on the basis of design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Drawing up the functional specifications of Gradient Amplifiers.

  • Adding new functionality or improving existing functionality in assigned building blocks.

  • Interfacing with supplier to generate a product design and evaluate related production processes.

  • Creating reliability plans and working with the suppliers on the execution assuring a reliable design.

  • Technically coordinating the development activities of the team members and/or suppliers.

  • Responsible for the documentation of the assigned technical building blocks.

  • Identifying and taking action on (technical) issues in the HW involved. Plan and track own and/or team activities accurate and efficient.

  • Responsible for deployment of new standards, designs, and guidelines.

  • Responsible for the long term roadmap on the involved HW functionality and align this roadmap with/in the overall technology roadmap created by the System Engineering department.

You will:

  • Work in and lead a team with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, systems engineering, manufacturing and service engineers

  • Have interactions with suppliers on product design, production processes and produce-ability, product quality and cost

  • Have interactions with Operations on tools, product quality and yield

  • Have interactions with Customer Support on installed base issues and customer satisfaction

  • Work on key components in the MR Scanner

Your team

You will be part of the Business Unit Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) within Philips Healthcare. The Business Unit MRI is responsible for marketing, product development and lifecycle management of 3T and 1.5T High/Mid performance MRI systems. In the MR Development group you will be part of the Dynamic Field Subsystem group with focus on the Gradient Amplifiers.

We are looking for

Someone with a Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in high power/high voltage electronics engineering

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in the area of high power/high voltage electronics design

  • Who has experience in working with suppliers to realize parts and to resolve technical issues

  • You have experience with document control systems (e.g. Agile), FDA and IEC Standards

  • Previous experience in Healthcare is a pré, as well as a green belt education

  • Disciplined team worker

  • Ability to lead teams

  • Accurate and quality minded.

  • Ability to work independently and to act pro-actively.
