Philips Senior Systems Engineer( Verification and Validation) in Bothell, Washington

Philips ECR group is rapidly growing to meet the market demand of the medical industry. We are looking for a Systems V&V Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in a medical or other regulated industry with an Engineering degree.

Some of the specific skills and experiences may include:

  • Analyzing product, system, and sub-system requirements

  • Writing detailed test plans, test procedures and test reports

  • Working with cross-functional team members

  • Working knowledge of DOORs, Quality Manager and ClearQuest or their industry equivalents

  • Safety Risk and/or Hazard Analysis

  • Experience with Class 3 Medical device standards (13485, 14971, 62304)

  • Supervise Technicians and/or Engineers

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Join us as a Senior System Engineer (Verification and Validation) who will be nvolved in designing the life-saving equipment needed to increase sudden cardiac arrest survival rates from the unnecessarily low 8% nationally to rates of over 60% survival like King County, WA. You are responsible for

  • Supporting product verification and validation through development, manufacturing and into continuation providing technical support and leadership on a cross-functional team

  • Define, document, and continuously improve tests including conducting peer reviews and maintaining traceability to requirements

  • Working closely with system architects and engineers to drive design inputs and then participate in verifying design outputs

  • Participate in reviews of requirements, design documents, and test related artifacts

  • Mentor, coach, and provide work direction to other engineers, technicians and interns

  • Proactively own and drive process improvements

  • Perform work with little to no supervision as department subject-matter expert

You are a part of

Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) V&V team to support both new product development and sustaining. An AED requires small signal processing for ECG analysis, high energy electronics to deliver the life-saving shock, and digital electronics to control it all. The development test equipment design is equally broad and challenging.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ industry experience in product development environment required with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree

  • Experience desired in a medical device or other regulated industry

  • Working knowledge of hardware and software development lifecycle required

  • Working with Standards like 13485, 14971, 62304 is preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Proven ability to perform problem solving and troubleshooting required

  • Strong attention to detail required

  • Proficiency in using typical lab equipment required

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work with minimal guidance to make decisions and report progress required

  • Demonstrated leadership role in product development environment including ability to provide guidance and direction to less experienced technical personnel required

  • Experience with requirements management, configuration management, issue tracking tools, etc. required
