Philips Software Development Engineer in Test in Bothell, Washington

Your Challenge:

In this role you will be challenged to perform as a Software Test Engineer in the Philips Emergency Care & Resuscitation (ECR) Data Management Solutions Group (DMSG) located in Bothell, WA. Bring your enthusiasm, energy, can-do attitude and drive to help deliver software solutions to support Philip’s Automated External Defibrillator (AED) customers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Software Development Engineers and other Software Test Engineers to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner

  • Ensure compliance of test documentation with the Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory requirements

  • Generation of test plans and scenarios

  • Definition and execution of test cases for integration and system testing

  • Documentation, classification and resolving of defects

  • Generation of test reports

  • Support cross functional (e.g., Support, Documentation) inquiries

  • Support development efforts by aiding with testing and troubleshooting

  • Review of requirements (design inputs) and ensures testability of requirements

  • Ensure compliance of test documentation with QMS and regulatory requirements

  • Consistently meet scheduled deliverables and assigned tasks

  • Write engineering and/or project documentation

  • Self-directed in execution of work

  • Interface with cross-functional members on resolving issues

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Maintain and add to existing automation framework, continued evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression, automation for newly integrated features, and development of toolsets to augment QA and development testing

  • Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) and developing & deploying software in a cloud environment is a plus

  • Understanding the complexity of implementing lean & agile development practices in a software development environment where there is a need to meet regulatory requirements is a big plus

Your Profile:

Required Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of experience testing software

  • Must be able to demonstrate software testing & development skills

  • Working knowledge of software application design, development, and testing

  • Understanding of Object Oriented concepts

  • Ability to work independently or in a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good learning aptitude

Desired Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Medical industry or other regulated industry experience

  • Experience with web application testing and/or delivering software as a service (SaaS) is a definite plus

  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Experience with Agile / Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Experience with test automation frameworks & products

  • Experience with SQL Server & database testing
