In this role, you have the opportunity to

define, implement and/or execute measures that safeguard that Philips in Belgium and Luxemburg is compliant with safety regulations and policies. Besides this you are familiar with environmental legislation in these countries. You propose solutions that are cost effective, practical to implement and maintain and furthermore provide advice on how to handle specific incidents and issues.

You are responsible for

the Philips sites in Anderlecht and Zaventem and for our Field Service Engineers in Belgium and Luxemburg you will:

  • Advise the employer to set up a policy, inventarise and evaluate risks and set up action plans to limit risks as much as possible.

  • Evaluate the correct implementation of legislation and in case required, stop the execution of work.

  • Execute audits and inspections, formulate recommendations, conduct training sessions and provide coaching and hands on support during implementations

  • Explain and defend your recommendations at Management Team and Director level

  • Superintend compliance with Health & Safety law and company directives and policies and set up all internal documentation and external documentation towards government.

  • Environmental compliancy and where required documentation towards government.

  • You set up the agenda of the CPBW and drive the meeting with union delegates

You are a part of

the Belux Country team and work in close relationship with the Benelux EHS manager (located in Eindhoven) and your Philips safety officer colleagues in the Benelux.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical, science, or related discipline

  • At least 3 years of experience in Health & Safety

  • You are safety expert level 2

  • knowledge of related legislation, tools and methods as well as environmental, safety, & organizational expertise

  • Preferably also knowledge of radiation protection

  • Experience in successfully working with clients and teams

  • Practical and hands-on approach

  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch, English and French language

  • Registration as a radiation protection expert in Belgium (FANC) is a pre or willingness to follow training on radioactivity
