Innovation Incubator Project Manager

Your Challenge

Philips is looking for a Project Manager to coordinate the activities of our Clinical Innovation incubator. You will be responsible for working in a dynamic, agile, high impact environment to design and implement solutions that are ultimately responsible for saving lives and improving patient outcomes.

We are expanding our efforts in cloud based analytics for healthcare diagnostic and therapeutic decision support. We have created an entrepreneurial innovations incubator to create and grow new technology arenas and business models. Our interests encompass predictive modeling, simulation, and outcomes management in whole new healthcare arenas. Collaborative relationships are maintained with universities, scientific institutions, academic organizations and governmental resources. You will be tasked with translating cutting edge technologies into compelling business propositions and build new product-service combination business model concepts to drive the future of healthcare!

Your Objective

The Project Manager provides enabling processes to continuously support management of project or program work throughout the organization. Uses the governance, processes, practices, and tools established by the organization and provides administrative support for delivery of the project or program work. They are responsible to guide and monitor the activities of projects or multiple related projects or programs. They will also develop project plans, schedules, budgets and other necessary project management artifacts.

They will identify needed resources for projects, from either within the business or new for a venture

They will monitor the program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal/external customers all along the way in an agile and iterative manner.

They will ensure and be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant internal policies, procedures, and standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Applies project management methodology, best practices and standards

  • Ensures adherence to all Q&R standards and requirements

  • Monitors the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources and risk

  • Provides a consultative role to projects and or Programs by supplying templates, best practices, training, access to information and lessons learnt from other projects

  • Provides project / program management with regular performance status, variances to plan and identification of areas for corrective actions

  • Coordinating communication across projects

  • Monitors compliance to project management standards, policies, procedures and templates

  • Coaching, mentoring and oversight of project management best practices

Reports to the Senior Director of Innovation for PCMS Business Group.

MINDSETS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Expertise in medical/hospital customer segments and the national healthcare systems in which they work. Understands the dynamics of health delivery business models / marketing and the dynamics of an “installed base” market.

  • Familiarity with the technologies and processes that currently dominate Health IT / Analytics, and with the emerging technologies that will serve them in the future

  • Boldness to create/shape markets whenever possible, exploiting Philips technologies, market positions and brand.

SKILLS

  • Subject matter expert in medical device regulatory standards and industry best practices

  • Project Management Professional Certification

  • Proven track record in leading project activities across multiple projects

  • Ability to synthesize market and customer feedback into innovative solution requirements; comfortable with making tradeoffs, decisively

  • A natural leader with the ability to reduce complexity to tackle clinical and organizational customer challenges

  • Experience in participating on complex projects and cross functional teams to meet demanding feature, cost, quality and introduction date targets

  • Demonstrable communication skills and ability to lead an organization to develop market leading products/solutions

  • Ability to work in an international environment, and to adapt to different cultures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred

  • 5+ years in project management profession

  • Agile training or certification

  • Healthcare experience in Device, Diagnostic or Health IT, healthcare/med-tech solutions businesses or related software analytics businesses
