Department Chronic Disease Management
The mission of the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) department is to provide the Health Systems and Personal Health business group sectors and local markets with innovative services, applications and solutions for cardiology and respiratory, medical software, patient engagement, health promotion, clinical science and data science. The department is located in Eindhoven, (NL), Cambridge (UK) and Aachen (Ger) and has strong relationships with nearby universities focusing on medicine, health psychology, and population health service research and data science.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced data scientist to expand our Chronic Disease Management department for data management and analytical challenges in population health management, telehealth-enabled health systems and personal health.
You will contribute to research activities around various fields of application including population health, health risk estimation, health service selection, telehealth-enabled surveillance, personal health applications and clinical validation of solutions. The focus will be on innovating, developing and evaluating first-of-its-kind data- and knowledge-driven algorithms and health service concepts and advancing their application through validation in trials and studies. You will help healthcare professionals make better and informed decisions, chronic patients add life to years and people live healthier lifestyles.
Ph.D. in one of the fields of Data Science or Health Economics incl. computing science, mathematics and statistics with a strong first-author publication record in healthcare or personal health scientific literature. Will also consider masters with relevant working experience
Knowledge on health, well-being and illness including medical long term conditions, and multi-morbidity
Hands on experience with databases and data management; ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets from various health system and personal health sources Commitment in taking up challenges from idea to market by understanding the business and economic considerations associated with health system and personal health innovation
Passionate about empirical, clinical and implementation research in multi-disciplinary teams
Excellence in verbal and written communication of research results in a clear, concise and actionable manner to stakeholders including colleagues, business partners and clinical partners
Expert knowledge of methods and tools for data analysis, machine learning, statistical learning and distributed computing (e.g., R, Matlab, Hadoop, Hive)
Demonstrated excellence in software design and programming, preferably in a medically oriented environment
Proven expertise in designing, deploying and evaluating experiments, trials, studies, pilots and routine practice in healthcare and personal health on outcome, cost, well-being and value
Proven expertise in designing, validating and deploying high performing data- and knowledge-driven algorithms in the health system and personal health domain
