Your challenge: As Project Manager you will lead a cross-functional team to complete a product development project. You will be responsible for making sure a project is completed on time, on budget within a given set of resources meeting quality system and regulatory requirements for medical devices. You will help the Respiratory Care business meet objectives through completion of product commercialization project objectives. Your responsibilities:

  • Lead cross functional project team(s) to complete deliverables against agreed upon schedule/budget/resource allocation

  • Works with product management and senior management to define project scope and justification for new product development projects

  • Develop and maintains project plans and schedules

  • Work with project core team members and functional management to establish project resource needs and confirm resource allocations

  • Establishes and manages project budgets

  • Prepare project status reports for functional and business unit management

  • Prepare and lead Design Reviews and Phase Gate reviews

  • Manages project risks, develops mitigation plans and resolves problems impacting project completion

  • Leadership- The ability to make things happen by encouraging and channeling the contributions of others; recognizing and addressing important issues in a timely manner, and acting as an agent for change and continual improvement when required to achieve results

  • Teaming-Leveraging available resources and capabilities to execute and achieve defined goals

  • Influence-The demonstrated ability to gain acceptance and commitment from other to one’s own beliefs and ideas

  • Negotiating- The ability to construct and maintain a strong bargaining position so as to insure positive response and agreement: striving for win-win situations

  • Develop an understanding of the Respiratory Care business objectives / strategy, and how completion of product commercialization project objectives fulfill same

  • Develop complete knowledge and understanding of the Respiratory Care New Product Commercialization Process (NPCP)

  • We are looking for:

  • BS in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, or closely related; Masters degree in an engineering discipline is preferred

  • Minimum of ten years demonstrated progressive engineering experience in a new product development environment

  • Minimum of four years of experience leading high complexity, multi-discipline product development projects

  • Experience with complex product develop (Electro-mechanical/software) in a regulated industry environment – FDA / medical device preferred, military/aerospace considered

  • Ability to travel up to 15% - Domestic and international
