Your Challenge

Do you aspire to be part of a world leading company in the Healthcare domain? Currently we are looking for a Development Engineer for our Respiratory Drug Delivery business. Our Respiratory Drug Delivery (RDD) business is a highly profitable business within Sleep and Respiratory Care. RDD delivers innovative products for delivering aerosol medication to the lungs. The products include advanced mesh nebulizers and treatment compliance monitoring systems.

Within this role you will work within product development on a combination of developing new products and/or product sustainment. This involves developing solutions and systems through full life cycle research, feasibility, product design, verification, validation and supporting transfer to production.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, realization and test of a system, sub-system or component. Understands and communicates the consequences of the design on the product.

  • Develops the work with focus on consumer needs and technological competitiveness, keeps an outside in approach.

  • Based on design specifications and functional specifications analyses (e.g. computational modelling, tolerance analysis, etc) or develops test methodologies, conducts tests and verifies performance.

  • Identify potential novel features and file invention disclosures in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that product is designed, developed, verified and validated using appropriate processes (e.g. risk management, DFMEA, design traceability, etc) and the relevant design outputs and documentation are generated and maintained

  • Ensure the requirements for the proposed test equipment and test specifications are adequately defined.

  • Ensure that product meets the relevant national & international technical specifications and that necessary information for EU & US regulatory submissions is generated.

  • Reports on personal schedule and progress.

  • On occasion may be required to lead key project activities, drive the planned objectives, schedule and costs and ensure project documentation is current and maintained.

  • Other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Head of Engineering or line manager

We are looking for

  • Minimum degree in Mechanical engineering, or Electrical, or Science or other related subject

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role, beneficial if this is within a regulated industry

  • Experience of working on product development projects (which include generating data for regulatory submissions an advantage)

  • Ability to asses novel technologies and design solutions and their technical viability for use in new products

This role reports to the Head of Engineering and will be based from our Chichester office.
