Philips Internship: HV ESD Test Development in Drachten, Netherlands

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Support developing an advanced instrument for the investigation of ESD’s impact on new product development, improving their quality.

You are responsible for

• Define the detailed requisite of the apparatus, and project plan

• Design and simulate the HW circuit of the HV simulator, under the team leader supervision

• Support in assembling one or more apparatus samples

• Execute full functional tests and tuning in order to achieve the desired performances

• Produce and deliver all design documents according to the Philips electronic design process

You are a part of

A multidisciplinary team charged of designing, assembling and testing the HV apparatus for internal ESD investigations. You report to the team leader, that also covers the formal role of tutor.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Currently studying towards your Bachelor HBO (BEng) / University Bachelor of Electronics in Electronic engineering

• Electronic hardware design skills, with special focus on analog and power circuits

• Use of standard electronic laboratory tools

• Knowledge of HW design CADs and Simulators (Altium preferred)

• Open, outspoken, and motivated by technical challenges. Team player.

• Good English, both spoken and written

Internship conditions:

  • Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.

  • A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.

  • A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.

  • The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
