Philips is transforming its Finance function. As part of the program, Finance Excellence Network (FEN) is responsible for the design and implementation of standardized finance processes to improve the effectiveness of the finance function.
In parallel the Blue Heart program aims to drastically rationalize the IT and ERP landscape to enable a more harmonized and standardized way of working across Philips.
The Junior Business Process Expert (BPE) has the task to contribute in developing and supporting the standardization of finance processes across the various business models used within Philips, as well as be able to act as a business project manager to realize implementation.
You must have a drive for process design and process improvement towards first time right processes where you are able to judge consequences integrally.
Translating process improvements into execution and implementation will be key.
The priorities will be in the area of Large Scale Projects, Customer Financing and revenue recognition.
The activities can involve beside process design, tool selection and the implementation of these processes and tools in close cooperation with Finance business partners, IT Business Partners, End2End process teams and non-finance Process Owners and Process Experts.
Understand current processes
You need to know the current end-to-end processes in the various systems in order to understand the differences in business models and requirements.
Support the business in solving issues and short term improvements of the current process.
Design and model of processes
You connect with and collect input from Subject Matter Experts of other specific process domain(s)
Design (new) processes in a multidisciplinary team in and outside Finance
You will contribute to the design of accounting processes on several level of detail (level 4-7)
You will collect detailed requirements as input towards the required solution.
Contribute and responsible for preparing test scenarios, as well as testing the solutions in applications (like SAP) itself, closely cooperating with IT and other stakeholders.
You take ownership on documentation of the new processes
Together with Academy/University you will set up content for training material and if necessary conduct class room or virtual trainings.
You will set up detailed work instructions and end user documentation.
You will be part of roll out programs to different countries/businesses.
You will make transition- and implementation plans to support proper roll out of the new processes.
Based on process indicators you will monitor the performance of the changed processes.
You will be the go-to person for questions on the new processes.
The Junior Business Process Expert is part of Finance Excellence Network (FEN), which is an integral part of the Accounting Operation Team. The Junior BPE works closely with Finance Business Process Owners, Senior BPEs, IT Business Partners and End2End Global Business Process owners.
You will report to the Business Process Expert LSP’s and Customer Financing and be an integral part of the team supporting to realize operational excellence and longer-term transformation.
We are looking for
Bachelor/Master degree in Business Economics, Accounting and Control or comparable
Minimum of 3 years process improvement experience in an international oriented organization
A finance professional who has experience with:- accounting and the related processes like month end closing and balance sheet account reconciliations including the interdependencies of subsystems and sub-ledgers.- Financial Planning & Analysis processes who understands how to analyze and find root causes for discrepancies as well as to advice and determine on corrective actions- quarterly forecasting and yearly budgeting (AOP) process- (customer) financing related processes- Internal Control & Risk Management like ICS and SoX compliancy
Knowledge of and working with SAP and the several SAP modules like PS (Projects), CS (Customer Service), PCA (profit center accounting) and COPA (Controlling & Profitability Analysis).
Preferably knowledge of MP1 (SAP commercial Health System).
Conceptual understanding of E2E process definition and capable of realizing process change
Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated data-driven problem solving capabilities
Comfortable working in a team as well as on your own
Creative mind with willingness to learn and ability to think outside the box to identify solutions
An experienced user of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Clear and constructive communication skills in English
