In this role, you have the opportunity to

Contribute to fundamentally improving people’s Health & Well-being through meaningful innovation especially through publicly funded R&D projects. As a Legal Officer Public Funding your challenge is to support all legal aspects of such publicly funded R&D projects.

You are responsible for

  • Managing and giving advice on all legal aspects of publicly funded projects and their programs, especially;

  • Driving and leading consortium agreement negotiations;

  • Driving new negotiation strategies and formulations for templates and contracts;

  • Safeguarding the Philips’ IP and legal policies;

  • Teaming up with Philips Intellectual Property & Standards (IP&S) and the department of Philips Group Legal;

  • Handling the process of legal documents of publicly funded projects;

  • Assisting in structuring and continuously improving the way of working within the Legal Office of EuroPartners.

You are a part of

the group EuroPartners, reporting to Head of Innovation Management. EuroPartners supports the setting up and running of R&D partnership projects and obtaining public funding through government programs at European or national level. For this purpose we give advice on matching Philips R&D activities to the best public programs. We offer practical support, not only to Philips Research, but also to other Philips organizations. We coordinate the programs as well as projects. We interface with public authorities to ensure public funding and lobby for favorable framework conditions. To cope with this wide variety of tasks, EuroPartners - a department of 15 people within Philips innovation Management in Eindhoven - consists of professionals with various backgrounds. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in civil law.

  • Experience as a legal professional (e.g. legal counsel, attorney-at-law etc.).

  • Background and special interest in public funding, legal aspect as IP rights, drafting and negotiating contracts, State aid etc.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written). Good command of Dutch is a plus

  • Good networking skills and a proactive approach.

  • Can-do mentality and hands on way of working.
