Summary: Shapes health economic strategies as well as tailored medico-economic models from provider and/or economic buyer perspective (e.g., hospital-based HTA) to support market access strategies and diffusion pathways for Philips technologies and Integrated Care interventions.
Core Responsibilities :
Applies techniques of health economic evaluation to technologies and Integrated Care interventions (across health care settings), both marketed and in development (e.g., costing studies; Budget Impact Models; cost-effectiveness models; decision-analytic models).
Contributes to the design of appropriate health economic studies required for reimbursement / HTA submissions and value dossiers for market adoption of (non-pharma) medical health technologies.
Leads in-house health economic studies and related activities such as systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, and modeling. In case of outsourced studies and projects acts as Philips lead from the HEOR perspective.
Collaborates with Philips Research and clinical teams and provides input on outcomes (cost-effectiveness; PROMs) to be collected during pilot studies and clinical trials.
Co-ordinates with HEMA members in other regions as required.
In this role you have the opportunity to
develop and shape health economic strategies to assess the value of innovative medical devices and integrated care propositions from concept ideation through to market introduction. This includes Health Technology Assessment (HTA) as well as tailored medico-economic models from provider and/or economic buyer perspective (e.g., hospital-based HTA to support market access strategies and diffusion pathways for Philips products and services.
You are responsible for
Applying techniques of health economic evaluation to a wide range of (non-pharma) health technologies incl. Integrated Care interventions (across health care settings), both marketed and in development (e.g., costing studies; Budget Impact Models; cost-effectiveness models; decision-analytic models).

Coordinating with HEMA members in other regions as required.
You are part of
a growing Health Economics and Market Access team, where you will have the opportunity to work independently in support of a wide range of innovative health technology projects. The role is full time and is located in Eindhoven.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master Degree (M.Sc.) Health Economics; Biomedical Sciences or related field is required.
At least 4-5 years progressive work experience of applying economics to health care, preferably in a consulting firm (Business or University-based), a Regulatory Agency, and/or medical Device/Health Technology company.
Hands-on experience with Health Technology Assessment (national level HTA; hospital-based HTA) submission strategies, and creation of corresponding high-impact payer/ provider tools including systematic reviews, value dossiers, and health economic impact assessment/s.
Proven modelling experience and respective software skills such as Excel (incl. VBA); TreeAge, SAS, ARENA (or other discrete event simulation software).
Knowledge of fundamentals of literature review principles (must); and epidemiology (desired).
Good understanding of payer and financial decision maker evidence requirements pertaining to healthcare markets in Europe (key: DACH, NL, France, UK, Nordic countries).
Full professional proficiency in English is required. Another native language / full professional proficiency in (at least) one key target market language is strongly preferred.
Travelling within Europe is required for project assessment or implementation dependent on project needs.
