Philips Mechanical Design Engineer 2 in Gainesville, Florida
Mechanical Engineering support for released products. Main responsibility is to give technical assistance to both Production and Service with mechanical issues. Determine if the issues are design or process related, if design come up with a short term containment and a long term solution for the given issue. Will evaluate supplier change request and first article submissions for mechanical assemblies. Perform engineering evaluation of non-conforming material for the Material Review Board. Document new designs and improvements in EDMS/Agile systems. Actively participate in group projects and tasks. Other duties as assigned.
In this role, you have the opportunity to
Provide Mechanical Engineering support for released products.
Main responsibility is to give technical assistance to both Production and Service with mechanical issues
You are responsible for

Evaluating supplier change request and first article submissions for mechanical assemblies.
Performing engineering evaluation of non-conforming material for the Material Review Board.
Documenting new designs and improvements in EDMS/Agile systems.
Support LEAN business transformation
Support HYDRA initiatives
Support Stop & Fix process for manufacturing and service
Support technically, manufacturing and service related to deep dives and root cause analysis
Support reliability initiatives of OEM customers
Support T1 level DMBs
Support T2 level DMBs
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5 or more years of experience in designing plastic components using machining, or injection molding process
Experience with machining of polymers, injection molding, constraints of MRI compatible materials
