Software Backend Architect is responsible for performing highly complex and technical activities relating to software design, development, and documentation, with emphasis on database design and backend services.
Design, implementation, and evaluation of database and persistence technologies for use in Clinical Solutions projects
Rapid prototyping, iteration & refinement to help solidify user requirements.
Development of “clean code” that adheres to industry standards of professional coding patterns, form, and styles
Perform state-of-the-art product development activities, with an emphasis on the “back-end” (including database design, performance, and security)
Support all phases of the development of desktop and web-based applications
Develop test plans, testing framework, & test protocols to support verification and validation activities of medical devices
Support internal customers within the business such as manufacturing, service and customer service

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 10+ years of Software Development experience
Mastery of database theory, design, and implementation
Mastery of Microsoft SQL Server & WCF
Strong object-oriented programming skills, C#, C+- Experience with Microsoft Entity Framework
Significant experience with distributed and client/server architectures
Mastery of the development tools including MS Visual Studio, Git, Gitflow
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Preference given to:
Master’s degree in CS or equivalent
Experience with medical imaging including working knowledge DICOM
Experience with health informatics with HL7 and/or FHIR
Experience in Agile software development, continuous integration, build automation
Experience with software development in a regulated industry
Knowledge of database design and persistence engineering for distributed / client-server applications, web-applications, UI frameworks, medical informatics.
Advanced skill set and a proven record of innovation for troubleshooting and solving complex system problems.
Experience with transitioning prototypes and proof-of-concept models into regulated medical devices– requires knowledge of all phases of product realization from design through verification, validation, and the creation of a device history record.
