Philips Software Developement Engineer (project management / lead) in Gainesville, Florida

Your Challenge

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Installed Base Engineering team in Gainesville, FL. As a team, we work together to resolve issues dissatisfying North American customers, ensuring solutions are made available through released software. In this role, you will track component projects from multiple developers at a detailed level to ensure deliverables (software, testing, and documentation) are completed on time to deliver high quality and compliant solutions to our customers. While ensuring progress and completion of project deliverables for the team, you will also be responsible as an individual contributor for developing the software solution for approximately two component projects each year.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work with software development engineers, MR pulse programmers, managers, and program teams to lead the planning, definition, specification, design, implementation, integration, and test of installed base software solutions through a number of small component projects.

  • With manager and component project leads, ensures component project execution is in compliance with the Quality Management System and in line with project guidelines and directives. Determines risks, defines corrective actions, and drives projects to closure through inclusion in a software deliverable (e.g., service pack, field change order, new product introduction).

  • Works with manager to allocate project resources across component projects.

  • Works with project stakeholders to communicate and review plans, status, project risks, and metrics.

  • Works with National Clinical Services Specialists and customers to ensure that implementations will meet customer needs.

  • Approximately twice per year, uses software engineering skills to understand the root cause of a customer problem and develop and deliver a solution as a component project.Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 4 + years of software development experience (C, C++, C#).

  • 2+ years experience leading software development projects.

  • Experience with working in an Agile development environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface in a cross-disciplinary manner, including with engineers, project leaders, and functional managers.

  • Self-motivated individual with good organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong potential and aspiration to develop and grow in the organization.

  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) a plus.

  • Familiarity with medical devices and/or working in a regulated environment a plus.
