Philips Maintenance Engineer in Glemsford, United Kingdom
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for 1st and 2nd line repairs (breakdown and preventive maintenance) of the machinery and carrying out, on the basis of technical knowledge and practical insights, structural improvements and remedying the most complex failures (TPM – total productive maintenance).
Troubleshooting of equipment problems and the improvement of production capacity, quality and/or efficiencies through the application of TPM.
Carry out repairs and remedies complex failures on a significant proportion of the machinery.
Carry out less simple improvements.
Assist in buying new machinery.
Troubleshoot equipment/process problems to root cause, implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence of the problem(s).
Develop and improve the preventive maintenance program on equipment assigned.
Support the site wide deployment of TPM.
Ensure that all knowledge and information with regards to machine issues and breakdowns is recorded appropriately (Planet, Machine ledgers etc.)
Rotating shift pattern (changing every week); either Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday; 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am.
This position reports into the Lead Maintenance Engineer and the successful candidate will be part a team of 9. The role is based is based in our world-class manufacturing site in Glemsford.
We are looking for
Electrical and mechanical experience in a production assembly/moulding environment
Proven maintenance experience in a production environment
Experience working with complex automation
Robotics experience an advantage
Knowledge of ultrasonic welding preferable
Must be practical with ability to work on own initiative or within a group with a can do attitude
Experience in plc fault finding an advantage
Experience of TPM (total productive maintenance)
HNC/HND Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
NVQ Engineering Maintenance (preferred)
