Philips Process Engineer in Glemsford, United Kingdom
The Process Engineer is responsible for the current state value stream design and improvements through ownership of the current state value stream model. This role will identify and eliminate bottlenecks & waste, lead TPM Focused Improvement. You will implement & own O.E.E measurement systems and analyse losses to focus on Continuous improvement. The Process Engineer supports central engineering project delivery, whilst ensuring all production activities are covered by suitable standard work. You would also be the Value Stream owner for evolving the PFMEA’s for current production processes
PFMEA ownership, creation for existing processes, continuous improvement/updates for existing PFMEA’s.
Practical Problem Solving using structured tools
Value Stream Mapping – creations and updating to reflect current state
Value Stream Map and data driven optimisation of processes within the VS to reduce or eliminate all identified Muda.
Layout design optimisation
Headcount rationalisation and labour efficiency
Bottleneck process improvements
End to end material flow from receipt to finished goods
Process optimisation (with the use of the VSM) – materials, equipment and labour
Responsible for creation of Risk assessments in the VS and their maintenance/regular review. Key involvement in conjunction with other VS functions and Central Engineering to accept new products and processes
Ensure adequate fit for purpose standard work documentation is available for shop floor processes. Work with NPI to ensure delivery of standard work documentation for new products and processes.
OEE metric and continuous improvement owner.
Creating and maintaining risk assessments in the VS.
Drive Lean and 6S within the VS and group.
Key point of escalation for process related issues.
To be aware of site wide compliance as per the AEO policy and adhere to site regulations at all times.
You will report into the Lead Engineer, working within a team of 5 process engineers. This position is based in Glemsford, Suffolk.
We are looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or Manufacturing engineering preferred or experience in a relevant manufacturing environment.
Demonstrable experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
Value Stream Mapping
Lean Manufacturing & Kaizen
Material Process Flow design
Practical problem solving
Six Sigma experience (GB or BB) preferable
