Philips Customer Demand Planner in Guildford, United Kingdom

Your challenge

The purpose of this role is to manage the volume planning process for the Top 5 Personal Health Customers across all product categories from a customer demand perspective.

This role facilitates accurate account planning as well as feeding the UK and global Sales Inventory & Operations Planning process (S&OP). It is also essential for bridging gaps between forecasts and delivery at an operational level meaning more focus on core collaborative KPIs: Forecast accuracy, OTIF & On Shelf availability.

Your team

This position sits within the Consumer Lifestyle UK Operations team at Philips HQ in Guildford and reports into the Senior Business Planning Manager. But will work very closely with the sales team.

Your responsibilities

  • Create collaborative and robust forecasts with customers and NAM’s

  • Continuously improve planning processes both internally and externally

  • Use external & internal information to gain insight into current and future consumer demand.

  • Become the centre of competence for forecasting and promotional planning

  • Manage inventory levels of Philips products within the customer

  • Balance availability versus the risk of overstocks, taking into account customer needs

  • Monitor & improve customer volume forecast accuracy (DPMA)

  • Regularly review Customer DPMA -3 and DPMA 0 forecast accuracy performance at summary and SKU level (where available). Analyse reasons for low performance and identify actions for improvement, exercising cost control

  • Monitor & improve On-Time-In-Full performance between Philips and customers (OTIF)

  • Fully understand the full Philips Customer supply process (including DC to Store). Identify areas which negatively impact OTIF. Improve processes and communication to improve, whilst exercising cost control

  • Monitor & improve On-Shelf Availability (OSA).

  • Identify internal and/or external areas which negatively impact OSA and implement actions to improve

  • Identify, formalise, initiate and manage Supply Chain improvement projects

  • Formalise actions and support needed to solve issues and drive improved KPI performance as well reducing Transport & Warehouse costs / Cost to Serve.

  • Experience in a similar planning role for a manufacturer/retailer with customer facing skills

  • Clear & holistic communicator

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills

  • Influential and persuasive

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise & work to deadlines

  • Problem solver with a customer service approach

  • Planning and project management skills are essential

  • A full driving license is required for this role as there is regular travel to customer sites
