Philips SW product Architect in Haifa, Israel

Position Summary:

The oncology informatics architect participates in creation and driving the architecture, technology roadmap and design of the new oncology informatics product.

The architect will be part of the system engineering and architecture team as well as the ICAP architecture office. He / She will work closely with various stakeholders, external and internal teams to create a world class, state of the art product.

Specifically, the architect will work closely with lead architects of other emerging products and platforms in Philips to leverage synergies, capabilities and tools from within Philips and the open source community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the new oncology informatics product line design process

  • Participate in the definition of oncology informatics product line architecture toward first commercial introduction

  • Participate in the definition of the oncology informatics product line architecture roadmap toward next releases

  • Participate in the development activities throughout the development life cycle

  • Leverage cloud oriented software technologies and frameworks to build simple yet robust solutions

  • Track, evaluate and assimilate relevant assets, capabilities and know-how from within Philips and the open source community

  • Serve as a leading driving force for SW functional excellence

  • Define requirements and APIs toward platform and other integrated solutions

  • Support project management in project planning and execution

  • Functional and clinical requirements analysis & flow down to sub system teams

  • Ensure that all nonfunctional requirements are defined and addressed by teams

  • Taking care of serviceability and reliability aspects of the product’s architecture

  • Keep abreast of technology and frameworks advancements, especially in the following domainsHigh-scale Cloud and DevOpsEnterprise informaticsAnalytics and decision support systems

  • Identify patentable Idea from the project and file

You are a part of the Oncology Informatics (OI) R&D management staff and ICAP architecture office.

Philips Oncology Informatics is an innovative group within the Philips Healthcare IT division. Our objective is to define and implement the next generation Oncology Informatics end-to-end solutions to enable clinical decision support for all the different clinical disciplines within the oncology treatment pathway.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Academic Degree in a relevant technology domain (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems etc.)

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of experience in Java development

  • Experience in leading system design of complex, distributed and cloud based SW products

  • Enterprise Java experience - must

  • Cloud based technologies and frameworks – must

  • Enterprise databases (SQL and/or No SQL) – must

  • Cloud Foundry and/or Spring Cloud – advantage

  • Familiar with Agile (SAFe) methodologies, tools and practices

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading an R&D team - advantage

  • Experience in a multinational organization – advantage

  • Excellent personal skills

  • Ability to influence without direct authority, a leader.

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability to travel (about 4 times a year)
