Philips Sales Support Manager (m/f) in Hamburg, Germany

The Philips Medical Systems (PMS) Development and Manufacturing Center (DMC) GmbH went from producing standard glass tubes to making high-tech componentry for markets around the world.

Within DMC, Philips Generators, Tubes and Components (GTC) manufactures a range of medical components for the global market. The GTC is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, with factories in Best, the Netherlands; Aurora, the United States; and Shenyang and Suzhou, China. As a global organization, we deliver differentiating x-ray generation and detection solutions, thus allowing our internal and external customers to lead their market segments.

GTC’s state-of-the-art product lines and innovations have contributed to leadership positions of our customers, and we are on track to realize our ambition to become the global market leader in Imaging Components. In order to realize this ambition are we are looking for a Sales Support Manager.

In this new role, you have the opportunity to

work with, handle and manage three important fields of expertise within GTC: firstly, “the market” and how we serve and satisfy our customers, secondly, the global sales team and, last but not least, the internal organization.

You are responsible for

  • first of all: seeing opportunities and challenges

  • being the communication and information stronghold for customers and the Sales department

  • Driving funnel management, sales analytics, quoting processes, contract management, CRM, customer satisfaction surveys, managing databases, all to exceed our customer expectations.

  • supporting the global sales teams with background knowledge, market insights, instruments, tools and organizational skills to support them in maximizing our business and opportunities

  • obtaining market insights, detecting business opportunities, chasing sales opportunities

  • professionalizing the sales support organization, its processes and standards

  • taking a leading role for harmonizing the global sales support activities globally

  • cooperating with internal stakeholders to get the right insight and support (marketing, finance, R&D, …..)

You role within the team

You are the communication and information stronghold for the department and our customers and you will be working with a lot of internal stakeholders (e.g. marketing, finance, quoting, technicians).

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

As a fast thinker with a business mindset, you are not only a strong coordinator but also an intelligent facilitator in chasing business opportunities together with your sales colleagues.

You are someone who is willing and able to impose structure on your surroundings, has a clear sense of order and of what others need. Also, you will need

  • extensive professional experience in this field of work ( >5 years)

  • a business mindset

  • strong analytical, numeric and communication skills

  • a proven track record in setting-up / professionalization of a sales unit

  • work experience in a multi-national environment

  • proficiency in English
