Your Team

The Field Action Sustaining Team (FAST) was created to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quick targeted product improvements based on customer feedback through product releases and leading the investigation and resolution of escalations from the complaint handling team and the service Level-3 team. The product improvements often require close coordination with our suppliers to negotiate, contract and ensure timely development, manufacturing and delivery of needed parts to create the product improvement.

Your Role

Procurement Project Manager covers the in-depth leadership of the supply chain aspects of FAST within the Post Market Surveillance area of the business. They own the procurement portions of Field Actions through early coordination between suppliers and project teams and driving supplier-based action to on-time completion. The procurement project manager also may investigate customer complaints related to supplier issues or lead smaller product or process improvement projects that are principally supply chain-related.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Drive investigation of root cause for supplier quality issues alone or together with other members of the sustaining engineering team.

  • Serve as point of ownership for driving early supplier engagement, procurement of material to satisfy assigned correction and removal projects.

  • Lead projects from a purchasing perspective as a member of core team for assigned projects to fully represent supply chain and supplier quality perspective.

  • Project manage the release process for field change order material kits including receiving inspections plan & execution, supplier part qualification (SPQ) and insuring adherence to all purchasing / material controls processes.

  • Maintain a strong linkage to the other CT / AMI personnel of same technical discipline to share and develop best practices.

  • Supports the in/outsourcing process (e.g. knowledge transfer, supplier ramp-up);

  • Provides input to the Commodity Teams regarding the supply base characteristics based on business requirements

  • Orders tools and samples related to product development or post market surveillance activities.

  • The Procurement Engineer may act as Supplier Account Manager assigned by, and under the delegated responsibility of the relevant commodity team

  • Utilize Project Management tools to plan and execute procurement activities for Post Market Surveillance activities.

  • This position will also perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or relevant experience 3 years of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project management experience

  • Computer-literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with projects that span multiple functions and locations / countries preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Experience in a FDA or similarly regulated device environment preferred.

  • Lean Concepts and process improvement experience

  • Knowledge of CT or AMI products preferred
