Multi-Vendor Field Service Engineer and On Site Leader (San Francisco Bay Area)

Philips is seeking an Imaging Field Service Engineer to support their 15yr MES (Managed Equipment Services) Imaging Systems business in the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, CA. This position will be responsible for service customer relationship and its management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, service, and maintain customer sites.

  • Lead daily service repair, preventative maintenance, field change orders / installations. Use local backup FSEs to assist when needed. Direct and prioritize repairs with clinical staff.

  • Identification and resolution of customer issues, providing the customer with the appropriate communication and involving appropriate Service and Sales Personnel.

  • Responsible for service contract and demand outside service margins and use of cost saving techniques.

  • Fully support the clinical team in having a positive effect and improving on patient satisfaction.

  • Co-Chair monthly Service Working Group meetings with Imaging Director presenting to the various hospital clinical staff leaders. Develop and execute action plans around service delivery.

  • Operate under required knowledge of regulatory requirement (Federal and State Radiation performance standards, registration, Quality Systems Regulations, EPA regulations and OSHA regulations.

  • Defines problems: Collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Has the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Candidate Qualifications

  • BSEE/BSEET preferred, or two year formal education combined with appropriate high tech related experience

  • Three or more years’ experience demonstrating repair and troubleshooting skills with multi-vendor imaging equipment; additional training provided as needed.

  • Experience working with c-level executives is preferred.

  • Must live within 1-2hrs drive of the Marin facility.

  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation available to respond onsite 24x7 as needed.

  • Ability to shift work day or work alternate shift to support customer schedules and service contracts.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Travel up to 50% to the customer site, zone office or identified meeting locations.

  • Average driving is 1 to 4 hours daily.

  • Carries or pulls up to 40 lbs. of test equipment.

  • Lift parts or carries parts weighing a few ounces to over 100 lbs. (assistance available when lifting items over 50 lbs.).

  • Frequently bends, stoops, twists, turns, and works in unusual positions using full body mobility.

  • May work from ladders or scaffolding, on occasion.
