Philips Quality Inspector in Latham, New York

Performs quality checks during the manufacturing build flow. They are responsible to check the product at defined stages to ensure it meets the drawing requirements.

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Test, inspect and facilitate in-process inspection. Record QA test data and observations as required. Organize and summarize inspection/test results and prepare related reports including statistical studies to assess conformance to requirements.

You are responsible for

  • Perform quality checks during the manufacturing build flow.

  • Check the product at defined stages to ensure it meets the drawing requirements

  • Perform actions to resolve issues and implement corrective measures.

  • Maintain working knowledge of all instruments used for routine and non-routine sample testing and troubleshooting.

  • Resolve quality problems in conjunction with plant managers, production and engineering personnel.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with customers, collaborators, vendors, co-workers and management.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

You are a part of

The Latham MR Magnets facility, which is a manufacturing and development site for Magnetic Resonance Imaging magnets used in Philips Magnetic Resonance Imaging and other customers.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Two year degree or technical diploma with one year on-the-job experience in inspection.

  • High school diploma and a minimum of three years on-the job inspection experience in lieu of a degree or technical diploma.

  • Knowledge of basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts.

  • Must understand types of measurements, terminology, and measurement techniques.

  • Must be able to interpret drawings. General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M.

  • Must be able to use inspection planning tools and perform product audits as required.

  • Must understand the concept of traceability (product, material, and calibration).

  • Must have basic calibration knowledge.

  • Ability to perform surface plate measurements and layouts.

  • CMM programing and use.

  • Basic knowledge of materials
