Your Challenge

Responsible to ensure that the physical and administrative receipt, storage and issue of goods from the warehouse occur in a timely and accurate manner and to ensure quality standards and customer needs are met. Oversees all functions related to the domestic and international shipping and receiving of inventory to ensure that all records are accurately maintained, inventory properly controlled, orders filled in an efficient and timely manner and ensure maximum efficiencies are gained and performance standards are met. Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives for the group and participates in development of the overall distribution strategy to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.

Provide leadership for supervisors and associates in the effective and efficient operation of multiple distribution buildings and/or locations. Full accountability for all work metrics, budget responsibility, and customer service in the shipping of product to customers.


  • Establishes medium term (i.e., 1-3 years) operational decisions policy decisions for the business, which have impact on the success of the business; responsible for cost center 2439 budget and actual expenses

  • Emphasis on providing excellent quality service by achieving high “perfect order” rates.

  • On-time shipping of customer orders and transfers.

  • Responsible for control of the physical inventory.

  • Evaluate and review the distribution operation business practices, maintain and update all distribution QSPs and work instructions.

  • Respond to and resolve customer issues in a timely manner.

  • Participate in TUV and Philips internal audits as the process owner for all distribution related activities.

  • Minimize expenses in relation to outbound volume by continuous process improvements.

  • Through constant collaboration drive and facilitate activities that improve coordination and communication within the distribution centers and other departments throughout the corporation (e.g. Customer Services, Operations, Sales, Finance, HR, IT).

We are looking for

  • Prior management experience with a strong emphasis on Lean initiatives. Candidate must be Customer Focused, Action oriented, a team builder, and innovative.

  • Bachelor degree in business, management, logistics, industrial engineering, or other related discipline. Masters preferred.

  • 7-10 years of experience at Philips or similar experience in a professional distribution role in a fast paced work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and control multiple shift operations and a thorough understanding of all phases of the distribution process.

  • Proven ability to coach and mentor associates

  • Knowledge of warehouse design and computer assisted picking and inventory management systems.

  • Knowledge of TUV and FDA a plus.

  • SAP experience is preferred.
