Philips System Designer in Pune, India

Purpose:

The System Designer defines the design of a x-ray based system/subsystem – in such a way that future product options and features can be realized without or minimizing negative effects for the earlier subsystems.

KAR:

Contributes to the innovation of products, processes and procedures

o Leads technical PRP or Innovation studies

o Delivers according to the PRP or Innovation study charter

o Participates in innovation studies

􀂃 Contributes to the technology roadmap

􀂃 Is responsible for the requirements of a particular (sub) system or system function

o Elicits and analyses the stakeholder requirements

o Prepares proposals and alternatives, guiding towards optimum balance of short- & long-term

requirements, for discussion with major stakeholders.

o Specifies the requirements of a project, which serves as contract for the project’s WHAT will

be delivered, with focus on ‘good-is-good-enough’

o Manages technical and safety risks for the project/subsystem in question

o Creates the product architecture in a modular, easy to maintain and extendible components

and modules, and guards and manages the architecture

􀂃 Defines the overall design for a subsystem in a project.

o Defines the design to the level that it can be realized by mono-disciplinary project teams,

and in line with the (sub) system architecture.

􀂃 Detects common architectural and functional components in order to enable reuse

and maintainability

􀂃 Implements the constraints that originate from legacy and relevant ilities

􀂃 Discusses, deploys and attunes solutions with the project stakeholders

􀂃 Determines and manages the external and internal interfaces framework in

cooperation with all interface stakeholders

􀂃 Monitors and manages that the design is understood and used / implemented correctly by the project

team

􀂃 Is the technical lead with respect to requirements, design, realization and verification for the

subsystem

􀂃 Advises on realization, planning and budgets

􀂃 Obtain and maintains internal and external network for knowledge build-up.

Job Knowledge and Experience:

Knowledge

􀂃 Has an in depth understanding of a particular product or complex product functions.

􀂃 Has an in depth understanding of the involved key technologies

􀂃 Technical skills and experience

􀂃 Specifies and creates the overall design for important products or complex product functions

􀂃 Masters in technical engineering as SW, Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, etc. or equivalent level

by experience.

􀂃 Several years of experience as hw/sw designer of the relevant application area.

􀂃 Experienced in technical leadership.

􀂃 In-dept understanding of design methods

􀂃 In-dept understanding of the application area.

Understanding of the related business disciplines, like application, manufacturing, supply chain etc

Personal skills

􀂃 Knows how to engage technical people in coming to the proposed solution

􀂃 Lateral thinker with helicopter view, capable of finding appropriate solutions covering the implications

in other disciplines

􀂃 Good listener
