Philips Mechanical Engineer IV in Rancho Cordova, California

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices Consoles R&D team. Our consoles are medical devices that must survive in demanding environments, and meet the regulatory and global distribution requirements.

This position is for a mechanical engineer IV that will be a part of the hardware team in Consoles R&D. The role includes working with the development and manufacturing teams in Rancho Cordova and around the world. This role also includes working with vendors around the world. Mechanical engineering expertise includes plastic molding, rugged design, water and dust sealing, connectors and cables, display and user interface design.

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Hardware

Responsibilities include (But not limited to):

  • Hardware development consists mostly of Mechanical design and some electro-mechanical design

  • Developing thermal solutions for circuit boards

  • Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Orders (ECO)

  • Hardware verification testing and issue resolution (in house and external)

  • Ensure that design practices and procedures are in compliance

  • Transferring designs to manufacturing

  • Working with cross-functional product development group

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • 8+ years of experience in Mechanical design (sheet metal, machined parts and casted parts)

  • 8+ years of experience with electronics packaging and molded part design.

  • Experience developing and manufacturing products on globally distributed teams

  • 10% travel

  • 5+ years of experience working in a regulated industry (Medical industry)

  • Medical product design experience is a must

  • Experience using Solidworks

  • Experience with using Windchill is a plus
