Philips Q&RManager, Quality Receiving and Calibration in Rancho Cordova, California

Carries out activities that support the execution of regulatory quality control activities. Creates and execute component inspections to ensure incoming materials meet specifications and can be used in Philips Products.

Performs a number of (general) regulatory quality control supportive activities.

Assesses and analyses the desirability/necessity of improvements and simplifications in processes and procedures and initiates a change request.

Defines and/or translates the product quality inspection Policy and Strategy into technical solutions. Determines the component quality inspection approach within the project.

Executes the component quality inspection activities within QRI:

  • Selects and applies quality inspection Methods and Tools w.r.t. specifications and related scripts.

  • Assures the proper creation of an infrastructure for optimum usage of these tools.

  • Reviews Requirements and Design Specifications with respect to quality inspection aspects of the product.

  • Proactively translates experiences gained into new requirements of products.

  • Has a specialized level of skill to perform analysis as part of assigned tasks.

  • Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.

  • Specialized theoretical knowledge of generic products/services and the surrounding organization to contribute to optimization of QR processes.

  • Takes a perspective to problems and spots less obvious solutions.

  • Finds solutions on the basis of theoretical insight and experience for deviating situations.

  • Identifies the problem and some relevant issues in deviating situations, analyses each, using standard procedures, and co-decides.

  • Own interpretation regarding assignments, based on own calculations and coordinates implementation of changes

Manager, Quality Receiving and Calibration (Rancho Cordova, CA)

Reports to Site Quality Manager

Your challenge

As the incumbent of this Quality & Regulatory (Q&R) role within Philips, your challenge will be to guide and support Business Groups, Markets and enabling functions to always do the right thing. This involves being a confident advisor on approval, regulatory compliance and quality management related topics, in order to achieve timely releases of innovative products that deliver high quality and outstanding reliability to the lives they will improve.

Drive Quality Receiving and Calibration activities on the various product lines at IGT Devices, to include: participation on development teams, , working with the manufacturing lines to initiate quality receiving and calibration improvements, assist in performing internal audits, and perform follow-up activities on NCR’s and CAPA’s. Support activities will be carried-out in accordance with industry and regulatory standards and Company Procedures and Policies.

Responsibilities

Manages employees who create and execute component inspections to ensure incoming materials meet specifications and can be used in Philips Products. Manages employees who support calibration and preventive maintenance. Carries out activities that support the execution of regulatory quality control activities.

  • Assesses and analyses the desirability/necessity of improvements and simplifications in processes and procedures.

  • Defines and/or translates the quality inspection Policy and Strategy into technical solutions. Determines the component quality inspection approach within the project.

  • To support and implement as applicable the sites long-range quality and compliance policy in regards to QRI and Calibration and create Q&R awareness level as determined within the team.

  • Introduce and implement the quality processes and tools required to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Manages compliance to FDA regulations and other Regulatory Agencies as required, guidelines and policies to all products and operations are consistent with those regulations.

  • Manages the review and approval of components and products manufactured for and by the company in accordance with their approved specifications. Manages all inspections and questions relating to the operation of the manufacturing sites in coordination with all other applicable company groups.
