We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Sales Manager who is responsible for the sales and commercial partnership for multiple accounts which are grouped into a channel. They are responsible for building strong senior customer relationships, building the brand and introducing new innovative products as well as leading, coaching and developing a team of National/Key Account Managers

This position reports directly into the Sales Director.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for processes and policies within channel & category (margin, pricing, marketing, logistics)

  • Responsible for the definition and delivery of relevant channel strategy

  • To maximise the channel P&L versus AOP/ROFO per key account by implementing relevant components of Integral Customer Management at customer utilising the Account Strategy and Strategic Account Plan to achieve and where possible exceed set targets.

  • Position new concepts and promotional plans per channel in agreement with CMM ensuring added value relationship with the accounts in the channel

  • Ensures competition is actively benchmarked and acted upon

  • Helps build a channel plan through sharing channel information and feedback

  • Accountable for accurate Account Promotions plans an input to SCM

  • Champions the individual development of direct reports and wider sales team

KPI’s

  • Turnover (Channel level)

  • Channel P&L (margin & cost to serve & CoNQ)

  • Sales out & Channel inventory

  • Channel Forecasting accuracy

  • Instore activation of agreed promotions/range plans

  • Individual Account BBS

  • Adherence to PPWF/CTT

  • The SSM role is accountable & indirectly responsible for all functional roles of the NAM to ensure alignment across the business in meeting KPI’s

We are looking for

  • Extensive Sales experience within a relevant industry

  • Bach degree level with Business/Commercial direction

  • Ability to manage Channel P&L

  • Ability to maintain and develop senior customer relationships

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Experience in Category Management and Shopper Marketing

  • Ability to translate a high level business strategy into a departmental plan.

  • Proven ability to forecast sales numbers and deliver on results.

  • Proven Leadership and people management skills with the ability to be energetic, dynamic and inspiring in leading a team

  • Proven skills in developing people’s strengths and unlocking potential, inspiring and coaching others to achieve beyond expectation.

  • Understanding of the relevant processes (supply chain, financials, Admin)

  • Ability to maintain and outside-in perspective that positions customers at the heart.
