Your Challenge

Join our dynamic team and you will use category insights data to create a clear direction for assigned categories to align Walmart and Philip’s strategies and tactics. You will work collaboratively with the Sales Team, U.S. Headquarter Category Management, Sales Planning, and Walmart to achieve category and Philip’s growth. You will also leverage syndicated/POS scanning sales data, knowledge, analytics and shopper insights to uncover opportunities for Walmart. This role will allow you to provide category leadership by increasing category sales and aiding in fact based/strategic selling.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated ownership of specified Categories by providing strategic and tactical recommendations to Walmart buyers on the assortment, merchandising, pricing, promotion, shelf/aisle reinvention, and .com strategy. Create plan designed to maximize the category and gain alignment from retail customer.

  • Create work plan to work towards category advisorships. Create commercial alignment with sales teams for coordinated support and action plan. Implement work plan to gain trust and credibility with Walmart buyers

  • Build relationships with the Walmart buyers through consistent delivery of value via reporting, promotional analysis, and with the help from Senior Managers and Director, relevant shopper insights.

  • Provide input into customer planning cycle based on knowledge of category and shopper trends, competitive issues, etc.

  • Collaborate with local sales team on a continuous basis

  • Create and present Walmart specific category reviews providing unbiased analysis, interpretation and recommendations for improving category performance.

  • Develop compelling selling stories to support strategic category and brand initiatives by leveraging fact based data and shopper insights

  • Create reporting and insights to support local consumption reporting.

  • Provide updates on Walmart key events to HQ such as major POG transition recaps, analysis of monthly trends, holidays and specific price/promo events throughout the year

  • We are looking for The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:

  • IRI, Nielsen or NPD experience

  • Microsoft office, advanced ability with Excel, PowerPoint, Database reporting

  • Bachelors Degree required, MBA preferred

  • Space Management software knowledge (JDA)

  • 8 years minimum experience with a major CPG company

  • Strong understanding of shopper insight proposition and techniques and track record of delivering a commercial viw of research projects

  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a cross functional environment
