Philips Advanced Test Engineer in Shanghai, China

As an G50 Test Engineer of Philips Apex, he/she will work closely with Apex Engineering and manufacturing teams to manage and maintain required testing of Apex transducers in production lines and during NPI and/or sustaining releases. Specifically, the job responsibilities of this position include:

• Completes assigned well-defined tasks of draft, review, update, and maintain of instructions and process for conducting AIM, IPT, PST and required testing for Apex transducers in production lines

• Contributes in maintaining required test equipment, SW, test tooling working with tolling RDE’s for conducting required testing, and resolve problems related to the equipment, tools, and SW.

• Facilitates planned training for technicians and mfg team members for operating the required testing, and maintain related instructions, procedures, and process documents current and/or updated.

• Works as interface with Philips Reedsville, Andover, and Bothell team members for communication and issue resolving related to test requirements, standards, specifications, procedure/process, and know-how to ensure all required testing at Apex for Philips transducers are functioning properly as specified.

• With reasonable guideline and support from Apex and BU staff, participates and facilitates test data analysis and completing report evaluation results

• Participants in NPI and sustaining projects to ensure the transducers development has specs that are measurable and testable and meets customers’ requirements

• Participants in drafting NPI products’ test standards and work instructions, provides training of test operators.

• Completes assigned tasks of managing test tools, requirements, SW, and test tooling’s’ repair, trouble shooting, and working with Philips colleague for their shipping logistics

• Completes assigned tasks of managing testing logistics and routines for Hipot, SLT, AIM, AML, etc., for Philips phase array probes

• Participates and facilitates issues resolving for Ultrasonix S4-2;Medison P2-4AA、P2-4BA、P3-8CA and P4-12;Mindray S8-3、S8-3s、S12-4, S12-4, and Terason transducers and testing for any issues’ fixing.

• Participates and contributes toassigned well-defined tasks of process standardization, process improvement and optimization, testing, production and product quality improvement, production efficiency improvement/lean production.

• Provides input to help improving Apex product reliability, reduction of scrap rate and failure analysis

• Works with senor engineering staff for sound judgment and making decisions.

• Pro-actively seeks out, learns, applies and shares with others new technical skills on an ongoing basis.

• Understands and is able to follow product/transducer creation processes, development phases, deliverables, and phase reviews processes, and also at design of product or processes

• Responsible for the assigned tasks’ quality of work, reliability, schedule, cost and completion of tasks on one or more modules. Deliver quality results in assignments

Requirements: a highly professional and self-motivated engineer with

• Required a Bachelor or College degree or equivalent education, or with equivalent work experience, major in Industry Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electromechanical Integration, Machinery Manufacturing, Biomedical Engineering or Electronic Engineering, or in equivalent field

• Demonstrated experience in the relevant industry in the field of transducers testing

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in product testing and data analysis in manufacturing and/or product development; familiar with the process of production manufacturing and quality management, product testing

• Experience in areas of acoustics testing, knowledge of manufacturing of medical ultrasound transducers is a plus

• Capable of use state-of-art test equipment such as oscilloscope, signal generator, etc. Familiar with Excel VBA, Matlab.

• Demonstrated history of solid occupational ethics

• Capacity of conducting statistical analysis of data and turning analysis result to solution, with reasonable guideline from senior engineering staff.

• Ability to operate independently with reasonable supervision; has technical skill for issues resolving and troubleshooting

• Acts as a mentor to EIs, EIIs in the engineering team, and steer skills to focus on technical and project problem solving skills;

• Able to work within engineering team and utilizes resources to produce optimal results

• Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate and/or present complex technical issues to engineers and managers

• Proficient in both Chinese & English; CET-6 or better

  • Bachelor or College degree, major in Electromechanical Integration, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Acoustics, or in equivalent field

  • Demonstrated experience in the relevant industry in the field of transducers testing

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product testing and data analysis in manufacturing and/or product development; familiar with the process of production manufacturing and quality management, product testing
