Philips Sales Analysis Manager in Stamford, Connecticut

Work with multiple data point sets to develop tools to help solve problems through defining, analyzing and communicating key operational performance metrics and business trends. Work independently across teams with the ability to think autonomously and take initiative to identify opportunities for business development, understand challenges and recommend solutions to capture these business opportunities.

Ability to tackle complex business questions, mine data, and generate business relevant insights that are communicated in a simple to consume and thorough fashion. This intermediate level position is responsible to prepare business specific analysis by conducting research, identifying trends, and applying problem solving techniques.

Develop ad-hoc queries when needed to ensure we meet the needs of the business. Assist in data validation through creating SQL statements to test, troubleshoot, and validate data. Monitor data integrity to ensure accurate data classification. Assist in sales territory re-alignments to ensure that representatives are assigned to the correct territories in a timely manner.

Ensures company systems are operational and are meeting the needs of the users, providing support and direction in order to maximize Sales Rep efficiency and effectiveness, and seeking opportunities for further training and documentation. Responsible for continual analysis of current systems and report generation techniques; gathering realistic requirements, creating detailed improvement plans, testing functionality and implementing changes.

Duties and Responsibilities: Develop Cognos relational, multi-dimensional and dashboard reports through the use of Cognos Report and Analysis Studios. In addition develop alerts through the use of Cognos Event Studio. Gather the specifications from the end users to ensure the reports developed meet their needs. QA newly developed/modified reports for accuracy before release to production.

  • Assist in end user system/report training for both Cognos and Powercerv systems.

  • Create data models and utilize predictive analytics to anticipate issues.

  • Develop and design presentations to review analysis findings and discusses recommendations for next steps.

  • Develop spreadsheets and tools for management use.

  • Analyze performance of various marketing, business development and other programs. Identify strengths/weaknesses, recommend opportunities for improvement.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • Create executive summaries of technical processes and present to management in a clear manner.

We are looking for

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:

  • BA/BS in statistics, math, computer science, market research or other related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in analytical roles.

  • Proficiency in MS Access, Microsoft Excel, and SQL select statements.

  • Understanding of relational databases, OLAP data sources, and dimensional functions.

  • Experience working with large datasets.

  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups, index/match, macros/VBA.

  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL, relational databases and Cognos report development preferred

  • Knowledge of SAP CRM suite and Business Warehouse considered beneficial.
