Philips Supplier Quality Engineer in Suzhou, China

Supports on-site/off-site supplier quality development including coordination/management of required internal/external resources. Qualifies sub processes of suppliers.

Manages quality conformity of supplies via active monitoring of the supplier performance and driving the incident and complaint resolution.

Ensures quality conformity of supplies via active monitoring of the supplier performance and take corrective actions (incident and complaint handling).

Executes the contractual definition and agreement on product and process specifications with the supplier (e.g. PQA / MQS).

Supports incident related liability recovery (CoNQ)

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Managing supplier Improvement and ensure Purchasing- and Supplier- management compliancy to FDA QSR 820 par 50 Purchasing Controls.

You are responsible for

  • Lead and organize supplier audit and follow up to closure

  • Interface to external suppliers for quality assurance from supplier

  • Lead purchased part approval activities with internal team and external suppliers

  • Drive SCAR initiation till closure for external suppliers

  • Support QN handling from production for external supplier issues

  • Monitor and improve the quality part inside GSRS and SPM for external suppliers

  • Conduct supplier quality development in audit, PPA and SQIP activities

  • Lead regular quality review with priority external suppliers

  • Drive the purchasing compliance in IS China

  • Work together with other supplier quality engineer and backup each other

Other significant relationships – internal

  • Work with PE and R&D closely for NPI project, transfer project and localization project

  • Work with SAM closely to select, monitor and develop the supplier

  • Work with PQE and production for material quality issue to ensure smooth production

  • Work with other site SQE for supplier development and quality issue handling

Other significant relationships – external

  • Assess and monitor assigned supplier quality performance

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Mechanical background

  • Good communication skill

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with majority of mechanical engineering

  • 7+ year mechanical supplier quality management or equivalent background

  • Sense of urgency for problem solving

  • Teamwork spirit with cross function for supplier management

  • Fluent in English written and oral

  • Familiar with welding process and its qualification.

  • Familiar with quality tool, APQP, PPAP, etc.

  • Knowledge with (special) processes, including mechanical assembly, machining, welding, heat-treatment, painting.

  • Familiar with plastics injection process and thermal foaming processes is a plus

  • Medical industry experience is a plus

  • Certified lead auditor is a plus

  • Mechanical high level assembly experience is a plus

  • Flexible for 60% travel
