The Philips Hospital Respiratory Care business has three locations in the United States. Our products include invasive and noninvasive hospital ventilators, patient interfaces, sensors, and monitoring equipment. The OEM Respironics group is located in Wallingford, Connecticut and is a leading manufacturer of mainstream and sidestream capnography and respiratory monitoring sensors and accessories.

You are responsible for

This role serves as a Sr. Product Manager Level 5 for OEM Respironics, specifically for capnography and respiratory monitoring sensors and accessories. This role is primarily responsible for the Marketing Plan, Pricing, Clinical Expertise, Product Launch, Product Lifecycle of OEM Respironics products. The role also requires account management of key OEM customers in the monitoring, defibrillator, and ventilation industry.

OUTCOMES: The successful candidate will:

Have responsibility for the marketing input and implementation of the Marketing Plan, competitive knowledge, annual market planning, and product life cycle management, product positioning and leading the new product development process. Have responsibility in account/customer management of key OEM accounts. Be an integral part of new product development teams, strategic/annual marketing planning, working in a matrix manner with the domestic and international sales and marketing managers to assure the full marketing contribution is delivered. Drive quarterly and annual financial goals as the result of the impact of new product introductions. Will have an intimate understanding of the customer needs and problems, the competitors and the environment in which the products will be marketed. Be able to articulate this understanding in the form of a product requirements document. Support sales efforts by acting as internal subject matter expert. Handle inquiries from customers on specific products and their applications to health care situations. Educate associates on specific anatomies, physiologies, and health problems. Foster relationships with Key Opinion Leaders from around-the-world

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

EDUCATION:

BS in Business or Life Sciences, or equivalent. Master’s degree in related field or Education, preferred. Professional medical accreditation (RRT, RPFT, RN, etc.) in clinical fields related to products or services offered by the company is a plus for this role.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in some combination of medical device product management, sales, medical education, or the medical device industry. Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations to individuals and large groups with potentially diverse audiences Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.

Other Desired Experience/Qualifications:

Product management experience of a medical capital equipment device, hospital critical care device is a plus. Working in a role with relationship/customer management oriented towards OEM industry

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position functions in an environment that requires the ability to interface with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, fax, telephones, etc. Position will spend periods of time sitting, standing, walking, etc., as part of the normal conduct of daily business affairs.

Lifting up to 25 lbs

Travel of up to 50% will be required, including trips outside the United States.

Your Responsibilities:

As a core member on product development teams, the Regulatory Specialist will provide timely and valued regulatory guidance (written and / or verbal) by owning the following tasks:

  • Review and approve engineering changes, advertising, promotional items and labeling for regulatory compliance.

  • Identify potential regulatory approvals risks based on changes in regulations, standards country specific issues or other unique characteristics of the project.

Additionally, the Regulatory Specialist will:

  • Collaborate with worldwide colleagues regarding license renewals and updates

  • Maintain regulatory files and tracking databases

  • Communicate with regulatory agencies as needed

  • Mentor other regulatory affairs personnel when requested

We are looking for

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a technical discipline.

  • Master’s preferred preferably in Regulatory Affairs and/or related field (or equivalent experience in the medical device industry)

  • RAPs RAC strongly preferred.

  • ASQ certifications also desirable.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the medical device industry (EU MDD, Health Canada, US FDA class II or class III, etc.).

  • Proficient knowledge of medical device regulations minimum FDA and Canada, Worldwide is desired. Must have personal experience with successful preparation and submission of 510(k) submissions.

  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision

  • Proficient knowledge of domestic and international standards

  • Strong background in Design Controls.

  • Experience in supporting international registrations and/or clinical investigations.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Understand LEAN concepts, methodologies and deployment.

  • May require 5% travel annually with possibly some international.
