Summary Objective:

The ideal candidate for this position would possess the skills to accurately verify, receive and track material utilizing the SAP/PRD system. Material, inventory and paperwork retrieval along with the resolution of any/all material issues is required, thus working alongside members of other departments would be required. The acceptance, disinfecting, receipt, processing and monitoring of all customer returns, along with the retrieval and issuance of raw/finished goods materials to be distributed to production cells and/or engineering personnel. Transaction accuracy is required and of upmost importance to ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy. The receiving clerk will be expected to perform some or all of the duties, tasks, and responsibilities shown below. Essential Functions:

  • Verification of all incoming shipments in order to confirm information provided on packing slips, COC, BOL’s etc.

  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages, overages and damages incurred during shipping.Work closely with Purchasing Department to resolve all issues.

  • Pull and deliver material to various departments upon request and perform all necessary transactions, charge-outs, etc. to maintain the integrity of inventory accuracy.

  • Examine incoming shipments to ensure they meet specifications required for receipt.

  • Check in inbound material and process utilizing SAP/PRD.

  • Responsible for the cleaning, handling, processing and monitoring of all customer returns.

  • Sort, count, identify, verify, receive and stock all material by utilizing SAP/PRD to maintain accurate inventory records. Perform all computer functions to track various aspects of goods received.

  • Inventory verification on a daily basis using the cycle count process.Work alongside members of other departments to investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies that arise in an effort to satisfactorily resolve all discrepancies.

  • Document and resolve situations where items received are not properly documented in the daily receipt log, following up with necessary members of the purchasing department.

  • Regularly enter inventory data into SAP/PRD on a timely basis.

  • Cooperate with representatives from other departments in the organization to provide warehouse information as requested.

  • Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained neatly throughout the warehouse.

  • Safely utilize pallet jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed.Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following all safety regulations.

  • Closely work with Logistics Coordinator to monitor Kanban levels and request releases for material as required.

  • Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods used in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customers

  • Train to, practice and enforce all company policies, trainings and rules in efforts to remain compliant.IE: 5S, PSCS, QSN’s, etc.

  • Provide support to Logistics Coordinator and Physical Distribution Manager as required.

  • Cross train in the shipping and packing areas in an effort to provide coverage as needed.

  • Participate in lean manufacturing and 5S activities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position directly reports to Physical Distribution Manager and direction is received from Logistics Coordinator.

Work Environment:

This position is in a manufacturing warehouse setting with some exposure to the outdoor climate as this is located around an active dock. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and busy.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a copier, phone, printer and filing cabinets. It also uses standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, rolling carts, box cutters, handheld tape guns. Extensive computer use will be required therefore familiarity with computers, and Microsoft Office Suite will be required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the position in a safe manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, stoop and move throughout the entire work day. The employee will occasionally be required to climb a portable staircase as required for fulfillment of material retrieval. This position requires regular lifting and moving of packages up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting and moving packages up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting and moving packages up to 75 pounds with assistance.

Additionally the employee would be regularly required to communicate with any/all manufacturing personnel within other departments to successfully complete their essential job duties.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am- 3:30 pm. Daily overtime and some Saturdays may be available, but are not mandatory and are at the discretion of the Physical Distribution Manager as deemed necessary to effectively meet business needs.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years’ prior warehouse experience required.

Familiarity with current software programs (SAP/PRD and Microsoft Office Suite), used within the company is preferred.

Proven experience as a receiving clerk or similar position is required.
