Philips Software Development Engineer (f/m/d) for AI related Infrastructure for Heathcare Solutions in Aachen, Germany

Your Challenge

As a system developer you will contribute to the Intellispace Discovery research platform and the AI for Radiology platform according to strategy and roadmap definitions, in close collaboration with a development team located in Aachen / Cologne (Germany) and Bangalore (India).

You are responsible for

  • Engage in discussing client requirements and assess technical feasibility / development effort with product owner

  • Sketch implementation solution and align with system architect and product owner

  • Develop and test code for back log items according to an agile process

  • Analyse system behavior and identify possible issues

  • Define, document and validate interfaces to other systems / system components

  • Contribute to system or end user documentation (e.g. operating manuals or training material)

  • Participate in assessment of relevant technologies

  • Maintain system quality through appropriate measures such as test definition / execution

Your team

You will become part of a dynamic, growing international team that delivers state-of-the-art technologies to apply to customers in clinical and research environments worldwide. We are working closely with several groups within Philips (e.g. MRI, CT, PACS, etc.) to provide an integrated, holistic offering of healthcare information technology that is able to make a difference to patients and clinicians. The topics are highly correlated with the strategy of Philips and offers a lot of development opportunities.

As part of the Imaging Clinical Applications and Platforms (ICAP) business unit within Philips, a leading vendor of healthcare solutions, we leverage potentials of artificial intelligence to improve patients' health and facilitate workflows of physicians in clinical environments. We work in a highly dynamic customer environment characterized by a large variety of medical research fields and a wide range of associated technologies.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience :

  • Technical Degree Computer Science/Information Systems or similar

  • Solid experience (3+ years) in information system development (fluent in .NET / C#, Java, ideally Python as well)

  • Solid experience (3+ years) of web-based technology stacks (e.g. Angular, Node) as well as communication technologies and protocols (e.g. HTTP, REST), ideally also in clinical IT environments (e.g. DICOM, HL7)

  • Experienced as member of agile teams in different cultures / locations

  • Understanding of methods and algorithms related to advanced analytics / machine learning / artificial intelligence as well as relevant toolkits would be a plus.

  • Experience in relevant technologies for system deployment, e.g. Docker or Kubernetes

  • Above-average analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting abilities

  • Good written and verbal communication skills to technical stakeholders (fluent English is a must, German is a plus)

  • Solid track record to deliver, also when under pressure

  • Proficiency in English language is a must, German is a plus
