As part of the Imaging Clinical Applications and Platforms (ICAP) business unit within Philips, a leading vendor of healthcare solutions, we leverage potentials of artificial intelligence to improve patients' health and facilitate workflows of physicians in clinical environments.

As part of the service team, the system & Q&R engineer helps to provide Artificial Intelligence (AI) services & solution offerings in the market. Solutions can be comprised of Philips products, systems, software along with one or more 3rd party products, implementation services, maintenance services and other value added offerings.

The successful candidate will work in a highly dynamic customer environment characterized by a large variety of medical fields and a wide range of cutting edge AI technologies.

You are responsible for

  • Develop, maintain and support technical infrastructure, hardware and system software components for IS Discovery and IntelliSpace AI.

  • Perform specification, maintenance, support and test of system software/hardware infrastructure and communication interfaces.

  • Develop, optimize and describe the integrated system architecture and provide an integrated system perspective to the stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain the design documentation during the product development projects.

  • Drive product release through stage gate processes including regulatory and quality requirements.

  • Generate and maintain relevant documentation for IS Discovery and IS AI: product release, market introduction, customer service, installation, maintenance, post sales, lifecycle management, development process, service delivery etc. Working closely with Philips Q&R organization

  • Continuously improve processes and quality management system of IS AI venture

  • Prepare for audits

You are a part of

We are a dynamic, growing international service team that delivers state-of-the-art technologies to apply to customers in clinical and research environments worldwide. We are working closely with several groups within Philips (e.g. MRI, CT, PACS, etc.) to provide an integrated, holistic offering of healthcare information technology using AI that is able to make a difference to patients and clinicians. The topics are highly correlated with the strategy of Philips and offers a lot of development opportunities.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer science, Information systems engineering

  • Solid experience (3+ years) in system engineering in a regulated environment (medical device)

  • Solid experience (3+ years) in designing and optimizing quality management systems in medical device regulated environment

  • Experience in FDA and / or notified body audits

  • Experienced in working with diverse teams involving different cultures / locations

  • Experience in relevant technologies for system engineering, e.g. Linux and Windows OS, web communication

  • Good written and verbal communication skills to technical and Q&R stakeholders (fluent English is a must, German is a plus)

  • Solid track record to deliver, also when under pressure

  • Fluent English is a must, German is a plus

In return, we offer you

As a system engineer and Q&R specialist you will contribute to the Intellispace Discovery research platform and the AI for Radiology platform according to strategy and roadmap definitions, in close collaboration with product owner and SW architect located in Aachen / Cologne (Germany) and Bangalore (India) as well as Philips global Q&R.
