Philips Manufacturing Engineer in Alajuela, Costa Rica

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Is responsible for the development and improvement of processes, tools and equipment of the Manufacturing systems, leading to predictable, reliable, stable and efficient production processes.

You are responsible for

  • Excellent understanding of product functionality and the manufacturing processes for multiple product lines.

  • Monitors and improves line yields, cycle times, and costs. Resolves production issues.

  • Competent at implementing lean manufacturing processes.

  • Leads process and equipment validations and qualifications.

  • Investigate new suppliers and collaborates to develop new material or equipment needs.

  • Supports the creation and execution of assigned project plans.

  • Collaborates in preparation of cost analysis for new product expenditures. Adheres to finalized budgets.

  • Supports internal and external audit processes by representing the company as subject matter expert to auditors or audit requests.

  • Investigates and proposes action plans in (FMEA) and root cause analysis.

  • Performs as core team member on cross functional teams. May participate in external project; collaborate with external entities for product/material/process improvement.

  • Reviews new product technology including existing or needed tooling and processes.

  • Provides technical guidance and coaching to other Mfg. Engineers, Technicians, and cross-functional teams.

  • Safety consideration for material usage, process. Leads and Performs CAPA, CIP, NCRs and other internal projects. Work on mid-level size project with minimal supervision. Involved in content development, testing, prototype analysis.

  • Seasoned professional that provides input on various levels of projects and client requests. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. (Multi-discipline Domain Specific).

  • Fully qualified, career oriented / journey-level position. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instruction on new assignments.

  • Provides guidance and training to production operators during the implementation process.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in ME, EE, IE, OE, BME, Physics or other relevant field with 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, high and low volume production lines, preferably in the medical device industry.

  • Master’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience.

  • Advanced knowledge in the use of tools related to discipline.

  • Consistently demonstrates strong organizational and interpersonal skills working in a cross-functional, regulated environment.

  • Expert with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project) to create schedules, presentations, graphs and charts and doing analysis.

  • Expert on additional specialized software packages.

  • Trains other engineers on software usage or a combination of equivalent job experience in related field.

  • Advanced English Level
